As an Administrative Office Assistant for the Michigan Consortium for Addressing Rural Education Expansion and Retention (MiCAREER) Resource Hub, this position is responsible for all certification related duties in order to process and recommend teacher education and administrative candidates for initial and/or additional licensure. This position is responsible for collaborating with MiCAREER leadership to complete the annual Title II worksheet and report. Additionally, this position provides data and analytical support for designated assessment projects/reports/surveys. MiCAREER is a consortium of universities that includes CMU, EMU, MSU, SVSU and NMU.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Four years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to four years.
Experience with Microsoft Word.
Customer service experience.
Spreadsheet and/or database experience.
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to project a positive attitude.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results.
Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Four years of experience working in PK\-12 schools or higher education.
Familiarity with academic advising, admissions, and/or student affairs in a higher education setting.
Knowledge of specific software programs and/or mainframe/systems (i.e. Excel, ZohoCreator, Qualtrics).
Demonstrated knowledge of Michigan Department of Education certification standards.
Duties \& Responsibilities
Processes/verifies candidate program enrollment at each institution in the consortium, verifies requests for Michigan Department of Education (MDE) certification, and maintains the candidate tracking database in the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS).
Coordinates with certification officers at the other consortium institutions to submit and track transcripts to department faculty for added endorsement requests.
Attends MDE/DARTEP meetings related to teacher education as necessary.
Collects and tracks program plans, clinical hours, and other certification requirements attained at institutions throughout the consortium and at CMU.
Maintains and updates all certification information in the MiCAREER CRM.
Tracks and processes MTTC scores and support requests.
Works with all consortium institutions for eligibility verification and Title II reporting.
Ensures that all MDE reporting deadlines are met.
Maintains up\-to\-date certification records and files.
Advises students and graduates on certification issues.
Notifies the director and partner institutions of any certification issues.
Assists in sharing certifications and communicates policies and practices for MiCAREER certifications with Institutions throughout the consortium.
Documents any certification changes at institutions throughout the consortium.
Participates in yearly meeting with certification officers at other consortium institutions.
Tracks and maintains lists of classes required for each credential at each institution along with any program modification(s) for certification.
Provides assistance with university and state auditing records related to certification as needed.
Coordinates and uses various systems for the collection of data and reporting related to grant reporting requirements in collaboration with the faculty appointed director of partnerships and programming.
Submits requests for certification updates to MDE and Tracks MDE approvals for certification modifications.
Provides data for state and federal reports.
Communicates pending certifications with consortium institutions each semester.
Performs other duties as assigned.
