Transportation Coordinator– Doral, FL Location: Hybrid (Doral, FL). 3 days on site / 2 days remote. Employment Type: Full\-Time We are looking for an experienced Transportation Coordinator to join our team and oversee the efficient movement of products throughout our U.S. distribution network and international supply chain. This position plays a key role in managing a high\-volume transportation operation, including LTL and Full Truckload (FTL) shipments across the United States, as well as ocean freight from multiple international origins. The ideal candidate combines strong operational expertise with an analytical and cost\-conscious approach to transportation management. Key Responsibilities Domestic Transportation Oversee the execution of 2,000\+ monthly shipments across six distribution centers. Manage a high\-volume mix of LTL and Full Truckload (FTL) shipments. Optimize routing, shipment consolidation, and carrier selection to improve service and control transportation costs. Monitor carrier performance, delivery times, claims, and service levels. Identify and implement opportunities to reduce freight costs and improve transportation efficiency. International Freight Manage the transportation of 2,500\+ ocean containers annually, as well as international air freight shipments. Coordinate inbound shipments from 10\+ global origins. Optimize freight costs, transit times, container utilization, and overall shipment efficiency. Work closely with internal teams, freight forwarders, carriers, and other logistics partners to support reliable product flow. Monitor international shipments and proactively address delays or documentation issues. Carrier \& Vendor Management Manage relationships with transportation carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers. Negotiate transportation contracts, rates, and service agreements. Conduct carrier performance reviews and participate in Requests for Proposal (RFPs). Evaluate transportation providers based on cost, service, reliability, and operational requirements. Team Leadership Lead and coordinate the activities of traffic clerks. Establish clear performance expectations and KPIs. Monitor results and promote accountability and continuous improvement within the transportation function. Systems \& Performance Management Manage and support the effective use of the Transportation Management System (TMS). Improve shipment tracking, transportation reporting, data visibility, and process automation. Track and analyze transportation KPIs, including freight cost, On\-Time In\-Full (OTIF) performance, transit times, claims, delays, and service levels. Use transportation data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Key Decisions \& Scope of Responsibility The Transportation Coordinator will have direct responsibility for decisions related to: Routing and shipment consolidation. Carrier selection based on service, cost, capacity, and operational requirements. Carrier negotiations and relationship management. Transportation priorities and resolution of operational issues. Recommendations and initiatives to improve freight cost, service performance, and transportation efficiency. Key Challenges Managing a high\-volume transportation network while maintaining service levels and controlling costs. Balancing freight cost, transportation capacity, transit time, and customer service requirements. Coordinating international shipments across multiple countries, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs processes. Proactively resolving transportation disruptions, delays, claims, and capacity constraints. Improving transportation visibility, reporting, and automation through effective use of the TMS. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in transportation, logistics, freight, or supply chain operations. Strong knowledge of LTL and FTL transportation within the U.S. Experience with international ocean and air freight. Working knowledge of customs documentation, ISF requirements, and import processes. Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) and transportation reporting. Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills with a focus on cost optimization and operational performance. Strong negotiation and vendor\-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced, high\-volume environment. Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus We are looking for someone who is hands\-on, analytical, organized, and results\-oriented, with the ability to move comfortably between day\-to\-day transportation operations and broader cost and service improvement initiatives.
