Medical Scribe Location: Remote – Candidates must reside in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized, detail\-oriented Medical Scribe to join our growing healthcare team. This is a work\-from\-home position; however, applicants must reside within the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Medical Scribe will work remotely alongside healthcare providers during patient appointments, documenting visits in real time and supporting efficient clinical workflows. The Medical Scribe will play an essential role in helping providers remain focused on patient care by ensuring accurate, timely, and complete documentation.The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast\-paced healthcare environment, has strong computer and documentation skills, and can effectively support providers remotely while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality. Medical Assistant schooling preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Participate remotely in live patient appointments and document patient encounters in real time while the provider is seeing the patient. Accurately document the patient's history, chief complaint, assessment, plan, and other visit information as directed by the provider. Enter information into the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and efficiently. Prepare patient charts prior to scheduled appointments, including reviewing available records and ensuring relevant information is available to the provider. Load and update medications, allergies, and other appropriate patient information for provider review. Enter provider\-directed orders, referrals, diagnostic testing, imaging, laboratory orders, and other requested services. Assist with preparing referrals and ensuring appropriate documentation and supporting information are included. Review charts for completeness and identify missing information or documentation requiring follow\-up. Assist with medication reconciliation and preparation of medication information for provider review. Support providers with timely completion of documentation and other assigned workflow\-related tasks. Ensure documentation accurately reflects the provider's evaluation, medical decision\-making, and treatment plan. Communicate effectively with providers and other members of the clinical team through approved communication platforms. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable privacy, security, and compliance requirements. Follow established documentation standards, workflows, policies, and procedures. Perform other administrative and clinical support duties within the scope of the position as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant schooling preferred. Must reside within the Phoenix metropolitan area. Ability to work effectively and reliably from a dedicated remote work environment. Reliable high\-speed internet connection and the ability to meet all technical requirements for secure remote access. Previous medical scribe, medical assistant, healthcare documentation, or clinical support experience preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent typing, computer, and data\-entry skills. Ability to accurately document information while actively listening to and following a live patient\-provider encounter. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality at all times. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a medical scribe. Experience working in a specialty medical practice. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or another electronic health record system. Medical Assistant certification or relevant healthcare education preferred. Experience with medication reconciliation, referrals, diagnostic orders, imaging orders, or laboratory orders. Experience supporting providers remotely. Familiarity with pain management, or other specialty healthcare services. The successful candidate must have: A reliable and consistent high\-speed internet connection A dedicated, private workspace appropriate for handling protected health information The ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements while working remotely The ability to remain available and engaged throughout scheduled work hours The ability to use required computer systems, communication platforms, and electronic health record software Work Environment This is aremote, work\-from\-home position. The Medical Scribe will work virtually with healthcare providers during live patient appointments and will support clinical documentation and administrative workflows electronically. Although this position is remote, candidates must live within the Phoenix metropolitan area. Training will take place in office and there may be times when coming in to the office may be required.
