Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and streamline clinical operations. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits. Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support when needed. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, diagnoses (ICD coding), and treatment plans. Support medical office management tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Assist with hospital medicine or emergency medicine procedures in inpatient or Level I/II trauma center settings when applicable. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, or hospital environments. Knowledge of dermatology, geriatrics, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support diverse specialties. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management for accurate documentation and data entry. Strong patient care skills with the ability to handle intake procedures efficiently while demonstrating compassion and professionalism. Experience working in hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments preferred; inpatient experience is highly valued. Ability to work effectively in high\-pressure settings like Level I trauma centers or OR environments when necessary. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records, ICD coding, and medical documentation.
