Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail\-oriented Appellate Law Clerk / Term Law Clerk to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will support the appellate division by conducting comprehensive legal research, drafting persuasive opinions, and assisting with case management across a variety of complex legal issues. Responsibilities Conduct in\-depth legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools on topics including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal law \& regulations, patent law, and more. Draft clear, concise legal memoranda, opinions, and orders that support appellate decision\-making processes. Review and analyze case files, briefs, transcripts, and other legal documents to identify pertinent issues and procedural history. Assist in managing case files through document review and organization within case management systems such as iManage and PCLaw. Support the preparation of oral arguments by summarizing key points and developing strategic recommendations. Coordinate with judges’ chambers on procedural matters and ensure compliance with court rules. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while handling multiple cases efficiently through effective project management skills. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school or equivalent legal education. Prior paralegal or legal support experience with exposure to civil litigation support or appellate procedures preferred. Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms. Excellent legal writing skills with the ability to produce well\-organized memoranda and draft opinions. Familiarity with procedural law knowledge across various practice areas including family law, securities law, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, landlord\-tenant law, and general \& commercial litigation. Experience using document management systems such as iManage or similar platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for drafting documents and managing case data. Effective organizational skills combined with meticulous attention to detail for handling multiple cases simultaneously. Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration within the legal team. * Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining professional integrity.
