About The Be Kind People Project (BKPP) The Be Kind People Project is a 501(c)3 non\-profit focused on initiating positive social change in K\-8 schools by promoting kind and healthy lifestyles. Our mission is to improve the learning environment by supporting student success through character education, wellness programming, and leadership development. BKPP’s unique programs provide an innovative framework for youth development that integrates social, emotional, academic, and health education. Description of Duties The Be Kind People Project is looking for motivated, education focused, and kind individuals to serve with the AmeriCorps Team. The Data Tracking \& IT Support Specialist will serve as a key part of BKPP’s AmeriCorps team during the 2026\-2027 grant year. This position will support accurate data entry, CRM organization and maintenance, and basic technology support for staff and program operations, including work in HubSpot, Virtuous, Microsoft Suite, and Mac and PC environments. This role may also include supporting other projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to BKPP’s mission of fostering kindness, education, and community engagement across Arizona. As a member of The Be Kind People Project AmeriCorps program, you will have recurring access to vulnerable populations, defined as the ability on more than one occasion to approach, observe, or communicate with children, either in person or through other means such as electronic or telephonic communication (45 CFR §2510\.20\). You will be entrusted with responsibilities and expected to achieve quantifiable performance goals that align with the mission of the organization. While duties may vary based on assignment, the essential functions of the Data Tracking \& IT Support Specialist are as follows, Maintain Accurate Data Entry and Records Enter, update, and verify program, donor, partner, student, school, and service\-related records in designated systems with attention to accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality. Goal: Complete assigned data entry tasks within established timelines while maintaining at least 95% accuracy based on supervisor review or system reconciliation. Manage and Organize CRM Systems Support the ongoing organization, cleanup, tagging, list management, and reporting needs of BKPP’s CRM platforms, including HubSpot and Virtuous. Goal: Review and update CRM records weekly, identify duplicate or incomplete records, and complete assigned CRM cleanup or organization projects by agreed\-upon deadlines. Provide Basic IT Setup and Troubleshooting Support Assist with setting up, organizing, and troubleshooting Mac and PC devices, including basic software access, account setup support, peripheral connections, and escalation of unresolved issues. Goal: Respond to assigned technology support requests within two service days and document actions taken, outcomes, and any recommended follow\-up. Support Secure and Effective Digital Operations Use Microsoft Suite tools to organize files, prepare reports, maintain spreadsheets, support communications, and assist with appropriate use of AI tools or training when approved by the supervisor. Goal: Maintain organized digital files and reporting materials, follow BKPP confidentiality and cybersecurity practices, and complete assigned digital operations tasks by established deadlines. Foster a Culture of Kindness, Respect, and Community Promote the mission and values of the Be Kind People Project through daily interactions with students, staff, and community members. Goal: Identify 1 example of how kindness was modeled or encouraged during your service each week. Qualifications Eligibility Requirements At least 17 years of age at the commencement of service, or Be an out\-of\-school youth 16 years of age at the commencement of service participating in a program described in § 2522\.110(b)(3\) or (g) in AmeriCorps Regulations. Have a high school diploma or its equivalent; or not have dropped out of elementary or secondary school to enroll as an AmeriCorps member and must agree to obtain a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to using the education award, or Obtain a waiver from the Corporation of the requirements in paragraphs (a)(2\)(i) and (a)(2\)(ii) of this section based on an independent evaluation secured by the program demonstrating that the individual is not capable of obtaining a high school diploma or its equivalent; or Be enrolled in an institution of higher education on an ability to benefit basis and be considered eligible for funds under section 484 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Agree to provide information to establish eligibility and to complete a National Service Criminal History Check as outlined in 45 CFR § 2540\.200\-206 in AmeriCorps Regulations. Qualifications and Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive or SharePoint. Experience using, maintaining, or learning CRM systems; experience with HubSpot and/or Virtuous preferred. Basic experience troubleshooting and setting up Mac and PC devices, software access, and common technology tools. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. AI experience, training, or willingness to learn approved AI tools preferred. Knowledge Basic understanding of data quality standards, including accuracy, consistency, completeness, and duplicate record prevention. Working knowledge of CRM platforms and how organizations use contact, donor, partner, program, and engagement data. General knowledge of Mac and PC operating environments, common office software, file organization, and user support practices. Awareness of confidentiality, cybersecurity, password safety, phishing prevention, and appropriate handling of sensitive information. Abilities Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized records and workflows. Ability to learn new systems, follow written procedures, and ask clarifying questions when information is incomplete. Ability to communicate clearly and kindly with staff, supervisors, AmeriCorps members, and community partners. Ability to maintain confidentiality, use sound judgment, and follow cybersecurity practices when accessing systems or handling sensitive data. Time and Training Requirements As a member of the BKPP AmeriCorps program, you are required to fulfill the minimum weekly hours as specified in your Member Service Agreement. Your service schedule will be arranged with your site supervisor based on your position and service site. Teleservice This position is primarily in person but may include opportunities for remote or work\-from\-home activities. Members will be expected to adhere to teleservice policies as outlined in their Member Service Agreement. National Days of Service AmeriCorps members are required to participate in AmeriCorps National Days of Service, including September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance and Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Your program director will coordinate volunteer and service opportunities to partake in on these days. These days are critical opportunities to engage in community service and reflect the values of AmeriCorps. Ongoing Training Requirements Members must attend regular training sessions that cover a range of topics, including but not limited to education, creative arts, and presentation skills. These trainings are mandated under 45 CFR § 2520\.50, which stipulates that no more than 20% of the aggregate service hours may be dedicated to education and training activities. Additionally, before starting your service, you are required to attend a comprehensive orientation that will be arranged by your program director and site supervisor. This orientation, along with ongoing training through the On3 Learning platforms, includes topics such as AmeriCorps prohibited and unallowable activities. Professional and Personal Development Beyond your core service duties, you are encouraged to engage in professional or personal development activities that complement your role. These may include: Attending workshops or seminars relevant to education or character development Participating in leadership training programs Engaging in community outreach projects that align with your personal interests and skills Benefits Living Allowance During their term of service, Members will receive a biweekly living allowance over the duration of their term served as defined in their Member Service Agreement. The Living Allowance is spread out over the life of the Agreement, which would be paid twice monthly during their term of service as defined by their Member Service Agreement. The living allowances are subject to Federal, state, FICA, Social Security, and Medicare taxes and are subject to rate change, which is determined by the CNCS on a yearly basis. Living allowance payments do not fluctuate based on the number of hours served in a particular time period. Please refer to the Member Service Agreement for more details. Segal Education Award The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award amount for this service position approved in Fiscal Year 2026\-2027 can be found in the Member Service Agreement. Amounts are subject to change by AmeriCorps determination due to changes in the Pell Grant. The Segal Educational Award can be used towards educational costs or repayment of qualified student loans as defined by the Trust and/or the Corporation. The Segal Education Award is not a cash payment. The Segal Educational Award is provided by the CNCS and not by The Be Kind People Project. The Segal Educational Award is subject to Federal, state and Social Security and Medicare taxes and are subject to rate change, which is determined by the CNCS on a yearly basis. To access the Segal Educational Award, Members must complete all required time and report entries, complete their required service hours, complete required training as defined by CNCS, return any loaned devices including but not limited to laptops, tablets, and phones to BKPP, and complete a Segal Educational Award request via www.MyAmeriCorps.gov on or by the last day of service. At that time, the Program will inform the Corporation that a member has completed the AmeriCorps service term. The Be Kind People Projec provides comprehensive health insurance coverage to full\-time AmeriCorps members who are not otherwise covered. Members have the opportunity to accept or waive enrollment and must contact their program director and human resources for further instructions. Childcare Benefits Only contracted full\-time (1700 hours) AmeriCorps members with dependents may qualify for childcare benefits, subject to eligibility criteria and application procedures as follows: i. Member is the parent or legal guardian of, or is acting in loco parentis for, a child under 13 who resides with the member; ii. Has a family income that does not exceed 75 percent of the State’s median income for a family of the same size; iii. At the time of acceptance into the program, is not currently receiving childcare assistance from another source, including a parent or guardian, which would continue to be provided while the participant serves in the program; and iv. Certifies that he or she needs childcare in order to participate in the program. If accepted, the member may choose to accept childcare allowance as determined by CNCS and AmeriCorps. Individuals who have successfully completed a term of service in AmeriCorps are also eligible to have the National Service Trust pay as much as 100% of the interest that accrued on their qualified student loan during their service. The evaluation includes both a midterm and an end\-of\-term written assessment for full\-time members, and an end\-of\-term written evaluation for less\-than\-full\-time members. These evaluations are designed to address key factors such as: Whether you have completed the required number of service hours. Whether you have satisfactorily completed assigned tasks and responsibilities. Whether you have met other performance criteria that were clearly communicated to you at the beginning of your term. These performance evaluations are intended to be a mutual exchange of information that not only informs the program's service delivery but also helps you successfully complete your term of service. The evaluations provide an opportunity for feedback and growth, and they are integral to ensuring that both the program and its members are aligned in achieving their goals. The Program Director encourages setting up one\-on\-one informal meetings to discuss any grievances, celebrate successes, or simply check in. Biweekly Timesheet Submission Members are required to submit biweekly timesheets through OnCorps to document their hours and eligibility for in\-service and post\-service benefits. This timekeeping record is essential for maintaining compliance with 2 CFR § 200\.430\. As AmeriCorps members are National Service Participants rather than employees under 45 CFR 2510\.20, the timekeeping system is designed to track only service hours and does not extend to tracking beyond your AmeriCorps service hours. Accurate and timely submission of these timesheets ensures that you receive the benefits associated with your service. Failure to complete timesheets by their due date or falsifying timesheets may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
