Pierce Davis \& Perritano LLP., an East and West Coast law firm specializing in civil litigation and trial practice, is seeking a motivated professional, detail\-oriented Accounting \& Billing Clerk to support daily accounting operations at our Portland office. Position Summary We are seeking a detail\-oriented and organized Accounting \& Billing Clerk to support the financial operations of our law firm. This role is responsible for daily transaction processing, billing support, accounts payable functions, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, and administrative staff in a fast\-paced professional environment. Responsibilities Daily Transaction Posting \& Reconciliation Post daily law firm financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Assist with bank account and credit card reconciliations. Maintain accurate accounting schedules and investigate discrepancies or outstanding items. Ensure all accounting records are complete, accurate, and properly documented. Assist in bank deposits. Accounts Payable, Expenses \& Client Matter Costs Enter and process vendor invoices, bills, and firm expenses. Track client matter\-related costs and ensure expenses are allocated to the correct client files and general ledger accounts. Assist with check runs, electronic payments, and payment tracking. Maintain accurate records of reimbursable client expenses and trust account\-related transactions, as applicable. Billing Support Support the Billing Manager in the billing process by coordinating with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure timely and accurate client invoicing. Assist in uploading invoices to various billing platforms. Assist in tracking Account Receivables and applying payments to client matters Month\-End \& Reporting Support Assist the Firm Administrator with month\-end closing activities. Identify and report aged receivables, posting errors, account discrepancies, or unusual balances. Maintain organized records for audits, reconciliations, compliance reviews, and financial reporting. Follow established accounting procedures and assist in improving consistency and efficiency in daily accounting processes. Support preparation of financial reports and other accounting\-related analyses as needed. Qualifications 5\+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or law firm office experience preferred. Prior law firm accounting or legal billing experience is highly preferred. Ability to stay organized and manage recurring tasks with consistency and efficiency. Comfortable working in a deadline\-driven, fast\-paced professional environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team\-oriented approach. Experience with legal billing, accounting, or Prolaw is preferred.
