Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail\-oriented Loan Officer Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support loan officers throughout the loan origination process, ensuring smooth operations from application to closing. Your proactive approach and strong understanding of financial services will help facilitate efficient loan processing, underwriting support, and compliance with industry regulations such as FNMA (Fannie Mae), TILA (Truth in Lending Act), and Fair Housing laws. Duties
- Assist loan officers with preparing and organizing loan applications and supporting documentation
- Review credit reports, financial statements, and other borrower information for accuracy and completeness
- Support the underwriting process by gathering necessary documents and verifying borrower details
- Calling and schedule home loan consultations
- Coordinate with clients to collect required signatures, disclosures, and escrow information
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations including TILA, Fair Housing regulations, and mortgage servicing guidelines
- Maintain detailed records of all loan processing steps using appropriate software systems such as 10\-key typing and math skills for data entry
- Communicate effectively with borrowers, real estate agents, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely loan approvals
- Prior experience working as a Loan Officer Assistant or in a related financial services role preferred
- Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and mortgage loan origination processes essential
- Knowledge of loan processing systems, credit analysis, escrow procedures, and mortgage contracts highly desirable
- Understanding of mortgage process, basic math skills, and TILA regulations required for accurate documentation review
- Experience with fair housing laws and mortgage servicing practices is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast\-paced environment
