Department Summary:
Join our ambitious, innovative academic healthcare administrative team! We are seeking a strategic and collaborative administrator to support the activities, organizational performance, and growth of one of our highly productive and dynamic clinical teams. In the Department of Orthopedics at BCH, the Program Coordinator role plays a critical part in helping our clinicians balance operational excellence with clinical, academic, and research missions.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate activities and daily operations of an Orthopedic clinical team. Confer with clinical team and staff to provide technical advice, problem\-solving assistance, and answering questions about the program and its goals. Refer inquiries to others as needed.
- Schedule appointments and meetings for personnel. Manage away schedules, assisting with rescheduling clinics, as needed.
- May collaborate with the Department’s Patient Experience Representative, Call Center and Surgical Scheduler teams, Executive Assistants, providing clinic appointments, peer\-to\-peer, and telemedicine scheduling services for clinical team’s patients. Directly troubleshooting patient/family inquiries and/or referring patient/family to appropriate resources for further assistance and support.
- May liaison with other BCH Departments (e.g., Patient Financial Services, Radiology) and outside clinics/hospitals to resolve delays and errors and ensure appropriate authorizations are obtained, and outside images and medical records are collected.
- May assist in planning workshops, meetings, or conferences; coordinating logistics, scheduling, and faculty/participant communications.
- May review applications, processes or other program documents in conjunction with supervisor/clinical team to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to program changes and improvements.
- May assist in the coordination of recruitment efforts.
- Other administrative and programmatic duties as assigned.
- Associate's or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience. Healthcare preferred
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
