Position Summary:
The Payroll Coordinator supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees across multiple locations. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role is responsible for entering payroll data, assisting with audits, resolving basic employee inquiries, and ensuring compliance with established procedures. The Payroll Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of payroll records and delivering excellent internal customer service in a deadline\-driven environment.
Job Duties \& Essential Functions:
- Process high\-volume, biweekly payrolls for multiple states and companies.
- Ensure employee tax withholdings are set up accurately based on employee work and residence locations, including remote employees.
- Assist in processing biweekly, multi\-state payrolls in accordance with company policies and applicable wage and hour laws.
- Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and completeness, and follow up with managers to resolve discrepancies.
- Support the Payroll Manager with payroll reconciliations, payroll transactions, and internal reporting.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, escalating complex issues to the Payroll Manager as needed.
- Assist in preparing year\-end payroll documents such as W\-2s
- Maintain accurate payroll files and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Handle routine tasks such as processing direct deposit requests, distributing paychecks, and supporting payroll audits.
- Collaborate with the People Services and Finance teams to ensure seamless flow of information affecting payroll.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
- 4\+ years of payroll or data entry experience in a high\-volume environment.
- Working knowledge of payroll regulations and practices.
- Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS systems (UKG).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working in a healthcare or multi\-location organization.
- 20 hours per week
- $30/hr to $35/hr commensurate with experience
