Job Goal(s):
The overall responsibility of the Early Childhood Administrative Assistant is to provide support for the VBISD Early Childhood Department to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations while serving as one of the family\-facing voice of the department. This person will serve as the point of contact for incoming phone calls, online inquiries, and provider referrals. They will also provide timely follow\-up with families connecting them to the appropriate VBISD team and community\-based services and programs. General responsibilities include: data entry, collection and organization to support VBISD’s Child Find obligation; and assisting in the planning, organizing, and operations of the VBISD Early Childhood Department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education :
High school diploma required; post\-secondary training preferred
Work Experience :
Previous work experience in a school, early childhood and/or a special education program or office is preferred. Experience and/or training related to the duties and responsibilities specified, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities may be acquired.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
- Effective and efficient office organization and management skills relative to attending to people and tasks, processing communications, storing and retrieving information, scheduling, monitoring and follow\-up.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Ability to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations.
- Excellent organizational skills and management skills relative to attending to people and tasks, processing communications, storing and retrieving information, scheduling, monitoring and follow up.
- Willingness to collaborate and cross train with the Special Education Administrative Assistants \& staff, GSRP Administrative Assistants \& staff, Professional Learning Coordinator and other special education, general education, business office and regional colleagues
- Have the ability to build positive and cooperative relationships with ISD staff, local organizations and community partners.
- Have the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple competing priorities and have good time management skills
- Ability to participate in all conferences, meetings, and trainings
- Demonstrate proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides).
- Commitment to have regular and reliable, in person attendance.

- Perform additional tasks, responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood and the Superintendent.
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to participate in work experiences related to professional learning delivery that utilize in person, hybrid, and virtual platforms
- Ability to travel within and outside of Van Buren County to support professional learning
