Summary
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of computer support systems and for providing technology support through necessary programming, software and evaluation and installation, security/access functions, and system operation. This position receives supervision from the Information Services Director and/or his/her designee.

Install, troubleshoot, load, replace, manage, and maintains equipment, software, databases, records, and hardware
- Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories, and security, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP entries.
- Develop and implement policies/procedures related to county systems, use, support, security, and backup
- Replace or repair defective equipment, software, and assure warranties are honored.
- Network cable installation and termination.
- Install and trouble shoot installation of new equipment. Personal computers, peripherals, and software for departments, load and test virtual and physical systems and software to assure users are satisfied.
- Assist with conversions and upgrades for software and hardware.
- Manage hardware, software, computer operation scheduling, backup, SAN storage, and retrieval functions and develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans.
- Manage backups and data recovery as needed.
- Work with internal users, consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.
- Provide support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
- Instructs users in use of equipment, hardware, software, and manuals.
- Research and evaluate new technologies.
- Manage and organize records filing and processing.
- Complete computer audits and run or write reports as needed.
- Manage unit website/social media pages as needed.
- Manage unit footage; may require changing of tapes, exporting, and burning of footage
- Pursue appropriate continuing education and training.
- Monitor technical inventory and asset tracking; includes vendor ordering \& documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.

- Proficiency in and skill using and maintaining various computer systems, software, and hardware including Network Cable Standards, Microsoft Office Suite, Virtual Environments, Phishing software, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Office365\.

- Knowledge of data center architecture development and design and server operating systems, including data center hardware.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Specialized training in information technology such as A\+ or other Comp TIA Certification, Microsoft Certification
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid and Defensive Driving certifications.
