DUTIES
+ Monitors pool activities and takes preventative actions to maintain the safety of the pool area by warning against unsafe practices
+ Responds to water emergencies, rescues, and assists patrons in the water
+ Provides basic first aid to swimmers as required
+ Reports and completes incident and accident reports
+ Instructs swimming lessons, completes and maintains swim lesson records, logs, and certificates
+ Records attendance of all pre\-registered participants
+ Maintain the pool area, sweep, hose down deck and pool area, dispose of trash, dirt, leaves, and other debris
+ Test pool for proper chemical and water balances, and maintain equipment and supplies for the pool
+ Other job, department\-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR\-AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications, and be able to:
+ Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with parents, campers, co\-workers, and community members
+ Express maturity in thought and demonstrate good judgment in performing duties
+ Ability to follow supervision and suggestions of management for improvement of service;
+ Willingness to cooperate with other employees and the public they serve
+ Demonstrate good citizenship, honesty, loyalty, ethical behavior, and sobriety
