- Performs various customer service duties including, but not limited to, answers phone lines, schedules trip reservations and assists customers with transportation resources.
- Collects customer data to determine eligibility for the Transportation Disadvantaged program, which may include mailings, face\-to\-face interviews and /or telephone correspondence.
- Performs data entry into the Transportation Dispatch / Reservation software system.
- Schedules trips for the Veterans including contacting via telephone the day before and verifying pickup times.
- Participates in mandatory emergency operations when a countywide emergency is declared. Duties and hours will vary based on the needs of the department.
- Performs basic accounting tasks, as needed.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1\) year relevant experience (customer service, clerical).
- Basic accounting experience highly desirable.
- Ability to type at a moderate rate of speed with a good degree of accuracy.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Requires strong organizational skills and must be very detailed oriented.
- Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Valid Florida Driver License (or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida), or valid Florida Identification Card is acceptable.
- Requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- The job involves frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
- The job requires frequent balancing and on occasion twisting and reaching above shoulders.
- The job requires the completion of tasks that involves fine manual manipulation and typing.
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, color vision, hearing, and speaking.

This is an On\-Call Casual Labor position. Please note: The days/hours worked would be as needed, without a regular set schedule.
The Casual Labor Program Assistant performs various customer service and administrative support tasks related to Transit Services programs funded with state, federal and local dollars. This position is located in Lecanto, Florida.
