The ideal candidate for this position is someone eager, enthusiastic, and anxious to start their career in the legal profession. As a case assistant, you will work directly with our paralegals and attorneys in fast\-paced, high exposure litigation. This position is the perfect stepping\-stone to becoming a case\-handling paralegal.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct support to paralegals and attorneys throughout the life cycle of a case including:

  • All phases of case preparation including attendance at trial
  • Compile, analyze and summarize data
  • Prepare and maintain production logs, witness and records charts, databases, exhibits and summaries of case information
  • Perform case and file management including maintenance of file inventory, directing documents to appropriate files and subfiles, preparing paper and electronic documents for trial and closing files
  • Maintain open communication with other case team members keeping them informed about the status of activities, due dates and tasks on each file
  • Maintain generic files, inventories and databases associated with these files
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Top candidates will possess excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail. In addition, we are looking for the following qualities:

    Skills and Computer Knowledge

  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) to create and format documents
  • Well\-developed customer service skills (internal and external)
  • A “can do” attitude with a positive approach to each task – no matter the task
  • Communicates effectively and shares ideas.
  • Solid grammar and punctuation skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability and affinity for adapting with various personalities and work styles
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
  • Experience in a professional office setting required
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Professional working environment with business casual attire
  • Ability to travel for trial to support paralegals and attorneys
  • 40\-hour work week with core office hours
  • Flexibility with work from home and in\-office days, after initial training phase
  • Ability to work overtime, if needed, to meet business and client needs
