- Prepare, analyze, and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions with precision and attention to detail.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining accuracy.
- Oversee payroll management using systems such as Workday, ADP, or Paychex, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) requirements through diligent internal controls and documentation.
- Utilize accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Support corporate accounting functions such as general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
- Assist in external audits by preparing audit schedules and providing necessary documentation related to governmental or non\-profit accounting standards.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies or variances; provide insights to management for decision\-making.
- Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration and related financial aspects; ensure accurate payroll processing and HRIS data management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on technical accounting practices.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP principles combined with practical experience in double\-entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of payroll management systems including ADP or Paychex; experience with benefits administration is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data accurately while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using 10\-key typing for efficient data entry; excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working within governmental or non\-profit accounting environments is advantageous.
