The Georgia State University Honors College is currently recruiting for a Coordinator, Undergraduate Scholarships and Fellowships will oversee the University Assistant Program (UAP), the Honors Thesis program, and internal awards such as the Honors College scholarships, the Just\-in\-Time Grant, the PC to Atlanta Campus Transition Grant, as well as prizes related to the UK internship and Thesis Pitch competition. The Research Coordinator also will serve on the Beckman Scholars Program campus committee, promote research and award opportunities at tabling events and on iCollege, PIN, and Honors College social media platforms.
For the UAP, the coordinator will advertise the program, solicit interested faculty/departments/offices, recruit eligible students, work with IT to update and monitor job board, calculate participants and estimate cost to provost, request funding from provost, assess the effectiveness of the UAP utilizing data, gather feedback from students and faculty, analyze hours worked, and implement changes based on a review of the program. To aid participants, the coordinator will host orientation sessions (virtual and in\-person) for students to introduce them to the program, explain expectations, and prepare them for success. In addition, the coordinator will monitor and update UAP iCollege page, answer questions from students in\-person and over email, and code students in Banner. The position will review students’ continued eligibility for participation through GPA monitoring and develop a handbook and related materials for business managers, departments, and students. The coordinator will work with the Associate Dean to better understand this program.
Regarding the Honors Thesis, the coordinator will receive and process thesis intent forms from Honors students for all semesters, work with Director of Academic Assistance to generate CRNs and evaluate courses. The coordinator will monitor the Honors College Research inbox and oversee the thesis pitch competition, which entails organizing and executing the annual event, advertising for the event, reserving rooms, recruiting judges and coaches, developing a program including run of show for the day, organizing the voting process, creating and distributing certificates for participants, and awarding prize monies. The position will host events for students to work on theses, recruit student participants, and provide effective student support. Furthermore, the coordinator will network with faculty to promote the thesis program, encourage students to present at a research conference with their thesis, and track students who present research. Lastly, with the data collected, the employee will work with GSU academic departments to develop new thesis guidelines and hone existing practices.
With national awards, the coordinator will assist the Associate Director of Academic Assistance to advise and mentor students applying for select national awards and research opportunities by creating and delivering relevant educational programming, reviewing applications and offering feedback. The position will develop and implement comprehensive outreach across academic units regarding national awards and research. For internal awards, the position will coordinate applications; review, award, and process the disbursement of funds as well as reporting processes for the annual Honors College scholarships, serving as the main point of contact or scholarship\-related questions. The employee also will write profiles of award recipients and researchers.
This position will interact with students, alumni, university leadership, and community partners. With the Director and Associate Director of Academic Assistance as well as the Honors College’s Academic Advisors, this position fills out the Honors College’s Academic Assistance team.

Qualifications:Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or GED and six years of related experience; or a combination of training and experience.
