Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail\-oriented Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support for bankruptcy proceedings, ensuring smooth case management and efficient legal processes. Your expertise will help facilitate client filings, document preparation, and legal research, contributing to the overall success of our bankruptcy practice. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of bankruptcy cases, including chapter 7 and 13 filings
- Prepare and review legal documents such as petitions, schedules, proofs of claim, and creditor notices
- Conduct thorough legal research using Best Case, LexisNexis, and other research tools on bankruptcy law and related areas
- Manage case files using document management systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Interview clients to gather necessary information for case preparation and maintain clear communication throughout the process
- Review and organize legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to court requirements
- Support administrative tasks including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and maintaining organized records of all case materials
- Coordinate with courts, creditors, trustees, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely filings and responses
- Conduct legal research relevant to bankruptcy cases
- Paralegal experience in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with exposure to litigation or bankruptcy law preferred
- Strong knowledge of legal administrative processes including document review, case management, and filing procedures
- Proficiency with legal research tools
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast\-paced environment
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail
- Effective interviewing skills to gather client information accurately and professionally
- Strong clerical skills including data entry, filing, proofreading, phone etiquette and general administrative support
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality
