Job Summary
Provide clerical support to the Purchasing/Business Office. This role focuses primarily on P\-Card transaction processing, cardholder support for declined transactions, and surplus property coordination.
Essential Functions
Process and reconcile P\-Card (Purchasing Cards used for business expenses) transactions in Emburse (financial software) in accordance with College policies and procedures.
Monitor and follow up on declined P\-Card transactions.
Coordinate surplus property activities, including listing surplus for sale or disposal, scheduling pickups, and maintaining accurate records.
Provide professional communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain organized documentation to support audit preparation and departmental recordkeeping.
Assist with other purchasing support tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Comfortable learning and navigating software systems.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications
Associate’s degree or postsecondary education in business, accounting, or a related field.
Prior experience with P\-Card programs, Emburse, or Banner ERP.
Experience in a higher education or public sector environment.
Work Schedule
Approximately 20 hours per week – flexible schedule and remote work available (up to 1,250 hours per fiscal year). One day in office at DMACC Ankeny Campus required.
