Solar One seeks an Environmental Educator to deliver quality environmental STEM and climate action education in NYC. Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of STEM Education, the Environmental Educator will teach Solar One’s climate action and green career readiness programs with K\-12 students across all five boroughs and occasionally throughout NY State. Programs may be taught in English or occasionally in Spanish or another language. There is the potential for occasional travel around New York State. Computer\-based work can be done at home, at our Solar One Environmental Education Center, or at our office space in Long Island City, Queens. Main job responsibilities:
- Teaching Solar One’s curriculum focused on climate action and solar hard skills.
- Teaching is often at schools, at our Education Center at Stuyvesant Cove Park, and
- State will be occasional.
- Co\-facilitating professional development workshops for New York State teachers
- Coordinating programs with schools and other community partners. This includes
- Participate in professional networks to promote Green Design Lab programming as well
- Assist the Director of STEM Education with administrative tasks such as recording,
- Utilizing program evaluation feedback from students, teachers, and the school
- Facilitate school STEM programming and camp during the summer between July to Mid
