  • The Health Sciences Coordinator provides comprehensive coordination and operational support to the Health Sciences programs, faculty, and the department dean. This position manages key processes that directly impact student success, including program applications, clinical onboarding, and compliance documentation. The Coordinator serves as the central liaison between academic programs, external clinical partners, and the college’s Procurement Office to facilitate and maintain clinical site agreements and contracts.

    The Health Sciences Coordinator supports student progression by coordinating program logistics, maintaining required documentation, and ensuring timely communication with all clinical and apprenticeship sites. This role oversees Kaplan testing processes, including scheduling, application coordination, and student tracking. Additionally, this position manages inventory and ordering of laboratory and simulation supplies, and provides operational support to nursing faculty working in the Simulation Lab to ensure a high\-quality instructional environment.

    DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Classroom SIM Lab Support

  • Meets and communicates with instructors to review and coordinate SIM/lab activities
  • Oversees, distributes, and organizes inventory; purchases all base materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Provides assistance and support to students and/or faculty in the use of applicable equipment and technology resources
  • Set up and take down equipment for teaching and exam sessions
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and repair of all simulation and lab equipment.
  • Manage equipment and supply inventories, ensuring supplies are stocked and readily available.
  • Assist with purchasing and implementing new technology, software, and equipment.
  • Ensure the SIM/lab environment is clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Coordinates purchasing needs for instructional, lab, and clinical operations.
  • Analyzes and anticipates equipment and supply needs; implements cost\-saving practices where possible
  • Program and Student Support

  • Supports Health Sciences programs by coordinating clinical schedules, student rotations, and onboarding requirements working with clinical partners, as needed by each program
  • Administers and coordinates Kaplan exams
  • Assist w/limited enrollment application reviews and support faculty scoring program applicants
  • Supports the nursing program with coordinated advising for LPN\-RN traditional and LPN\-RN apprenticeship students; limited general advising for new or potential students.
  • Assists with student and faculty concerns/complaints, referring complex matters to appropriate offices
  • May supervise and provide leadership to part\-time hourly and work\-study staff
  • Data Management

  • Provides data tracking, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision\-making
  • Reviews schedule input for accuracy; serves as an active inputter and backup for data entry
  • Maintains knowledge of administrative and program\-specific systems (Banner, Complio, ACEMAPP, Laerdal, ASPIDA, etc.)
  • Provides technical and Learning Management System (LMS) support for faculty when requested
  • Budget, Contracts \& Grants

  • Monitors and tracks lab supply budgets (general fund and self\-support) in collaboration with the Dean
  • Generates Health Sciences contracts in coordination with Procurement, Business Services, and the Dean
  • Supports Health Sciences and nursing specific grants, ensuring compliance, data collection, reporting, and budget accuracy, while collaborating with stakeholders

    Minimum Qualifications:

    This level requires an equivalency of eight (8\) years of full\-time work experience that reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.

    This is typically achieved through a Bachelor’s Degree in a Health\-related field and four (4\) years of full\-time work experience that reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.

    Education equivalency will not apply to three (3\) years of the full\-time work experience. Core Competencies:

  • Experience working in health sciences programs including but not limited to nursing
  • Academic advising experience specific to students seeking health science programs
  • Experience with coordination of clinical sites
  • Experience working on federal, state, and/or local grants
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements specific to health science\-related programs
  • Experience with clinical/hospital/long term care
  • Experience with grant requirements and funding

  • SCHEDULE \& MODALITY

    This position is not eligible for remote/hybrid work.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is a 100%, 12\-month classified assignment at the 17 pay rate
  • This position has a 6\-month probationary period
  • All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
  • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
  • If requested, requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
  • Must successfully pass a physical fitness and agility test
  • Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires going up stairs and carrying textbooks and other supplies between institutions.
