Schedule: Monday \- Friday 9am\-5pm

Position Summary: The Certified Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant will play a vital role in providing support to a team of nurses and nurse practitioners in delivering exceptional patient care. The role involves monitoring patient vital signs remotely through dashboards, accurately documenting patient information, assisting with patient inquiries, managing medical records, and ensuring compliance with the RPM program and healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of nurses and nurse practitioners to remotely monitor patients' vital signs through dashboards for a remote monitoring program.
  • Measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
  • Support doctors or nurses during exams.
  • Perform blood draws safely and efficiently using proper techniques.
  • Label, store, and transport blood and other lab specimens correctly.
  • Follow strict protocols for hygiene, PPE use, and sharps disposal.
  • Ensure phlebotomy tools and lab equipment are clean and functioning properly.
  • Address alerts on the dashboard and promptly communicate with patients as needed.
  • Demonstrate exceptional phone communication skills, conveying empathy and professionalism in all patient interactions.
  • Provide support with front desk coverage and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Remind patients to take required measurements and accurately document the results in patient charts.
  • Escalate patient calls to nurses or nurse practitioners when necessary for further assessment and care.
  • Maintain and update patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Manage incoming calls from patients, providing compassionate support, answering inquiries, and offering assistance.
  • Perform data entry tasks in Salesforce, including closing opportunities and monitoring opportunities in the system.
  • Conduct outbound calls to patients, providing instructions, gathering information, and addressing concerns.
  • Use EMR systems, specifically AdvancedMD, to input and manage patient data and information.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as required.
  • Schedule virtual patient appointments with Nurse Practitioners, coordinating with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Ensure strict adherence to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and uphold the organization's code of conduct.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • * Bilingual Fluency in Spanish.

  • 1\-2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • * Active Phlebotomist Certification required.

  • Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems, experience in AdvancedMD a plus.
  • Strong grasp of patient care procedures and medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage patient records and appointment scheduling.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to provide empathetic and supportive patient interactions.
