Field Systems Engineer – On\-Site \& Infrastructure (Miami)
Mission
To serve as FUNCSHUN’s boots\-on\-ground technical authority — executing on\-site deployments, compliance inspections, server and network infrastructure work, and endpoint rollouts across a diverse client base. You don’t just show up; you assess, document, and close.
30/60/90\-Day Outcome Scorecard
∙ Day 30: Completes solo site visits, logs all work in ConnectWise Manage, earns 5\-star client feedback
∙ Day 60: Independently leads compliance walkthroughs and infrastructure assessments; builds client\-facing documentation in IT Glue
∙ Day 90: Owns at least one recurring client infrastructure engagement (backup audits, network segmentation, or compliance support) end\-to\-end
Core Responsibilities
∙ Field Deployments — Execute device setups, firewall and switch installations, structured cabling, rack mounting, and AV/Zoom Room support at client sites across Miami
∙ Server \& Infrastructure Management — Handle server decommissions, iDRAC/IPMI configuration, NAS and backup system management, and hardware validation on platforms such as Dell PowerEdge
∙ Network Engineering Support — Assist with and implement VLANs, network segmentation, WPA Enterprise WiFi (UniFi Fabrics, FreeRADIUS), IP configuration, and gateway troubleshooting
∙ Backup Monitoring — Conduct daily backup audits using Acronis Cyber Protect; triage failures, validate restore points, and escalate critical issues
∙ Compliance Support — Participate in on\-site compliance inspections (e.g., PCI DSS physical and logical audits), document findings, and support audit reporting workflows
∙ Endpoint \& RMM Deployment — Provision and onboard endpoints with NinjaRMM, configure managed software (SyncBackPro, Bitvise, Domotz), and validate agent connectivity
∙ Client Documentation — Log every visit and configuration change in IT Glue; produce network diagrams and asset inventories post\-engagement
∙ Remote Collaboration — Act as the physical extension of the remote team; coordinate via Microsoft Teams in real time during site visits
Required Skills \& Qualifications
∙ 3\+ years in IT field support, systems administration, or infrastructure roles
∙ Solid networking foundation — VLANs, IP addressing, switch/router configuration, WPA Enterprise
∙ Hands\-on server experience — rack hardware, iDRAC/IPMI, decommissioning, storage
∙ Familiarity with backup platforms (Acronis preferred) and backup validation processes
∙ Comfortable with structured cabling, rack wiring, and labeling standards
∙ Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365 administration, and endpoint management tools
∙ Exposure to compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, HIPAA, or similar) is a strong plus
∙ Strong written documentation skills — client\-facing notes and network diagrams
∙ Able to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to client sites throughout Miami\-Dade and Broward
∙ Professional presence, punctuality, and client\-facing communication skills
∙ Fluent in English and Spanish

Schedule \& Expectations
∙ Based in or near Miami, FL (Miami\-Dade preferred)
∙ Full\-time, Monday–Friday — flexibility required for installs and compliance inspections
∙ Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
