Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Patient Service Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from appointment scheduling to check\-in and follow\-up. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help facilitate efficient clinic operations, accurate medical documentation, and exceptional patient care. You will coordinate with medical staff, manage administrative tasks, and utilize various electronic health record (EHR) systems to support the delivery of high\-quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check\-in procedures, verifying insurance information and updating patient records in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical office management software like Athenahealth or Dentrix, ensuring optimal clinic flow
- Verify insurance coverage, conduct insurance authorizations, and handle billing processes including medical collection efforts
- Review and update patient documentation, ensuring accuracy in CPT coding, ICD\-10/ICD\-9/ICD coding, and medical terminology for billing and care plans
- Answer multi\-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, providing information or redirecting calls as needed
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management
- Assist with front desk duties such as filing, data entry, patient intake, and managing office supplies to support seamless clinic operations
- Proven experience in medical administrative support or office management within a healthcare setting, including dental or hospital environments
- Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix or Eaglesoft; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is essential
- Familiarity with medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD\-10/ICD\-9\), insurance verification, and Medicare processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate effective phone etiquette
- Ability to review complex medical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Demonstrated clerical skills including typing (10 key), filing, data entry, and managing multi\-line phone systems
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous

Pay: $22\.97 \- $27\.66 per hour
