The Assistant Director plays a vital role in supporting the work of The Clark Fund and the broader Advancement team at Clark University. This position provides essential organizational and administrative support, manages the Clark Fund student worker program, coordinates and executes events, and oversees the Clark Fund inbox and phone line while delivering responsive, high\-quality customer service to alumni, parents, and friends. The role also manages key administrative and financial functions, including credit card reconciliation, requisitions, and office supply ordering; while ensuring efficient office operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technologically proficient, and proactive, with strong communication skills, an understanding of development work, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast\-paced environment while advancing the mission of Clark University and the impact of higher education advancement.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Clark Fund student worker program, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising student callers to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Manage and grow the Clark Fund senior class gift program and student philanthropy program aimed at increasing student philanthropy.
  • Coordinate and execute Clark Fund events and engagement activities that support donor stewardship and philanthropic participation.
  • Serve as the primary manager of The Clark Fund inbox and phone line, providing timely, professional customer service to donors, alumni, parents, and friends of Clark University.
  • Oversee administrative and financial functions including credit card reconciliation, requisitions, meeting planning, payments, processing gifts, data entry, and office supply ordering for the advancement team.
  • Maintain organized office operations and support efficient workflows for the Clark Fund team and Advancement initiatives.
  • Utilize advancement systems and technology to support fundraising operations, data tracking, and donor engagement efforts.
  • Support the mission of Clark University by contributing to initiatives that strengthen alumni engagement and philanthropic support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a development, fundraising, or advancement support role, demonstrating initiative, the ability to work independently, and a strong drive to advance philanthropic goals.
  • Knowledge of advancement offices, development processes, and the role of philanthropy in higher education.
  • Commitment to providing excellent donor\-focused customer service in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt in a fast\-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong basic mathematical and analytical skills to manage office budgets, reconcile accounts, and track financial data related to development operations.
  • Ability to handle confidential donor and institutional information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Technologically proficient, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Microsoft OneDrive, and virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom. Experience with donor databases such as Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems, donor engagement platforms such as VanillaSoft and GiveCampus, and project management tools such as Trello is preferred.
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills to prepare development reports, donor correspondence, and meeting materials.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and development initiatives.

Additional Information:

Expected Hiring Range: $23\.94 to $26\.32 per hour

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job\-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good\-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
