In addition to the amenities found throughout the gym our programs include aquatics, racquet sports, youth classes, individual training opportunities, Weight Management program, Small Group Training, virtual fitness, and group fitness. Our group fitness classes range from kickboxing and cardio classes to indoor cycling and mind/body wellness. Strength training options include resistance equipment, free weights, and body sculpting classes.
We also have community based group fitness classes through Covenant’s BodyWORKS Program. Position Summary: This position is responsible for collaborating and implementing the curriculum of adult and junior programs; responsible for teaching in other instructional programs as outlined in the yearly tennis program including special events, NTRP hitting sessions, team practices, and camps; responsible for assisting in tournaments, USTA league administration, junior and adult interclub administration, and annual planning; responsible for promoting tennis programs to members, non\-playing members, and non\-members to grow the tennis program.
Responsibilities:
- Abides by the philosophy and adheres to the system procedures of the Tennis Department as set forth in its operations manual.
- Provides quality on court instruction and presence in clinics, practices, private lessons, NTRP hitting sessions, camps, and special events such as Meet the Pros, Junior special events, and Mixed Doubles socials as set forth by the tennis department.
- Collaborates and implements curriculum for adult and junior clinics insuring the proper progression of participants.
- Collaborates in the development of and implements curriculum for camps, team practices, and special events.
- Collaborates on the appropriate progression of players to higher levels of play in the GKTA summer and fall interclub leagues.
- Assists in the running of tournaments as required.
- Provides off court service to members by answering general inquiries, insuring proper placement level in clinics, leagues, activities, special events, tournaments; makes phone calls to members to fill up programs that need more participants.
- Attends and actively participates in weekly tennis department staff meetings and as required.
- Works closely with the tennis manager to insure the smooth operation of on –court programming with scheduling and fees, administration of said programming
- Actively promotes and markets tennis programs to raise awareness and increase participation.
- Assist with tennis operations as related to water delivery, indoor and outdoor court maintenance, etc
- Provides front desk coverage as needed in absence of racquet sports supervisor or desk receptionist.
- Assumes other administrative duties as required by the needs of the department.
- Reports tennis facility maintenance issues to Tennis Manager.
- Reports to Tennis Manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience:Must have at least three (3\) years experience as a teaching professional.
Weekly On\-court hours required –30\+ hrs. Min. weekly administration hours required \- 5 hrs. Licensure Requirement:
USPTA and/or PTR Certification required
