Role Summary:
The IT Manager oversees the full scope of the organization’s IT operations, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, systems administration, and support services. This role ensures strategic alignment of IT services with operational needs and manages personnel. The IT Manager additionally contributes to the technical setup, configuration, and management of information systems with a technical role in systems administration and networking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform systems administrative and networking functions for the organization as a contributing team member.
- Lead and supervise IT, cybersecurity, and support personnel across all networks (classified and unclassified).
- Develop and execute IT strategy, budgeting, lifecycle management, and long‑range planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST, CMMC, DOE 205\.1D, and internal security plans.
- Oversee systems availability, reliability, and security across enterprise environments.
- Coordinate major projects.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, procurement, and asset management.
- Implement policies and processes for configuration management, change control, and IT governance.
- Serve as escalation point for critical incidents and system outages.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology field. (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years of direct supervisory responsibilities of a team of 10 people or more.
- Government IT Support experience.
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks, RMF, and compliance\-driven IT operations.
- Experience with the Microsoft GCC High Cloud environment.
- Experience managing a Classified network.
- Experience managing hybrid or multi‑network environments preferred.
- Configure, manage, and monitor network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WLAN) in classified, unclassified, GCC High Cloud, and Industrial Control System network segments.
- Implement and maintain firewall rules, ACLs, VLANs, and segmentation boundaries.
- Troubleshoot network outages, performance issues, and security‑related anomalies.
- Maintain network diagrams, inventory, and baseline configurations.
- Support secure remote access technologies (VPN, privileged access solutions).
- Implement and manage SDWAN.
- Ensure networking practices comply with security controls including SC, AC, IA, and CM families within NIST 800‑53\.
- Conduct switch, router, and firewall upgrades and patching.
- Collaborate with ISSM/ISSO on secure architecture designs.
- 10 years of network admin experience.
- Government experience supporting classified, unclassified, industrial control systems, and GCC High cloud networks.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
- DoD/DISA STIG or hardened configuration experience.
