Summary
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the resort’s total sales efforts to achieve and exceed revenue goals across all market segments, including group, leisure, corporate, weddings, and events. This role provides strategic direction, sales leadership, and hands‑on market engagement while collaborating closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Catering \& Events, and Operations to maximize profitability and market presence. This is not a Remote job, required to work on the Resort.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership \& Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the resort’s business objectives and financial goals.
- Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities while growing existing accounts and strategic partnerships.
- Analyze market trends, demand forecasts, and competitor activity to drive informed sales decisions.
- Establish annual and quarterly sales goals, budgets, and action plans.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to ensure high performance, accountability, and professional growth.
- Set clear expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and support ongoing training initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, results‑driven sales culture focused on service excellence and relationship building.
- Actively solicit and secure group business, corporate accounts, and key leisure segments.
- Represent the resort at industry events, trade shows, sales missions, and community functions.
- Maintain strong relationships with meeting planners, travel partners, wedding professionals, and key stakeholders.
- Oversee contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company standards.
- Partner with Revenue Management to optimize pricing strategies, inventory, and yield management.
- Collaborate with Marketing to align branding, promotions, digital campaigns, and sales collateral.
- Work closely with Operations and Catering/Event teams to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor sales production, pace, and forecast accuracy using CRM and sales systems.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for ownership and executive leadership.
- Ensure accurate data entry, pipeline management, and compliance with sales processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive hotel or resort sales experience, including leadership roles.
- Proven success driving group and total revenue in a resort or full‑service hotel environment.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into actionable sales initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficient in CRM systems, sales analytics, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel as required and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to attend off‑site sales calls, events, and site inspections.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed for events and trade shows.
