About The Org
Move for Hunger is a national non\-profit organization that mobilizes transportation networks to deliver excess food to communities in need. We were founded in 2009 and have partnered with nearly 1,400 moving companies across the nation to encourage their customers to donate their food when they move. We have seen rapid expansion over the past few years within the relocation and multifamily apartment industries \- with over 600,000 apartment units working with us. In addition to rescuing food during move out, Move for Hunger also organizes thousands of food drives, fundraisers, and corporate employee engagement events. We’ve recently expanded our reach to farmers, distributors, CPG and logistics companies in an effort to recover fresh food.
About The Role
Move For Hunger is seeking a part\-time Shipping and Receiving Clerk for up to 28 hours per week to work at our office/warehouse in Neptune City, NJ. This position is not eligible for remote/telework. This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and will report to the Operations Specialist and COO.
We are looking for an energetic and meticulous Shipping \& Receiving Clerk to manage the heart of our operations—our warehouse—and ensure we can deliver hope to those facing food insecurity. As our Shipping \& Receiving Clerk, you are the custodian of our physical impact. You aren’t just moving boxes; you are managing the critical infrastructure that allows our programs to scale.
We are looking for a precision\-oriented professional who views a warehouse not as a storage space, but as a high\-efficiency logistics hub. You will manage the flow of goods, maintain impeccable inventory records, and ensure our special event and Welcome Kit materials are ready to go. You will also have the opportunity to guide volunteers and support our mission in a hands\-on environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Logistics \& Precision Fulfillment* Full\-Cycle Shipping: Execute the end\-to\-end process of receiving, registering, and distributing goods.
* Strategic Prep: Manage the high\-detail assembly of Special Event Shipments and Welcome Kits, ensuring every kit meets brand standards before departure.
* Freight \& Space Planning: Proactively schedule large\-scale shipments and optimize warehouse floor plans to maintain peak operational flow.
* Quality Control: Troubleshoot shipping discrepancies and resolve carrier issues with a "solution\-first" mindset.
Inventory Integrity \& Data Governance* Digital Accuracy: Maintain 100% data integrity within Salesforce and Sortly.
* Auditing: Conduct rigorous inventory counts and weight receipt audits to ensure our reporting to stakeholders is flawless.
* Procurement: Monitor burn rates of collateral and supplies, initiating orders before stockouts occur.
Community \& Volunteer Engagement* Lead with Impact: Serve as the on\-site lead for Volunteer Days, translating warehouse tasks into meaningful experiences for participants.
* Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Move For Hunger at local events, moving comfortably between logistical execution and public\-facing advocacy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support other organizational tasks and projects as assigned.
- Provide seasonal support to the Food Recovery Team in scheduling Transports.
- + Comfortable without restriction with repetitive motions, including lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

* CRM \& Operations: Salesforce (Shipment tracking \& data integrity)
* Inventory Management: Sortly (Real\-time stock auditing)
* Project Management: Asana (Task execution \& workflow)
* Logistics: Coordination with third\-party carriers and freight scheduling.
* AI \& Automation: Leveraging Generative AI and automation tools to streamline documentation, draft communications, and identify patterns to improve warehouse efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS \& Skills:
* Professional Experience: Prior experience in shipping, receiving, inventory management, or warehouse operations is preferred. You understand the rhythm of a loading dock and the logic of a stockroom.
* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook); experience with Salesforce or a CRM is a significant bonus. You are comfortable navigating digital tools to ensure data matches physical reality.
* Logistical Precision: High\-level attention to detail, organization, and follow\-through. You don't just start a task; you see it through to completion and verify the results.
* Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills. You can coordinate clearly with carriers, update leadership, and guide volunteers with ease.
* Self\-Governance: A self\-starter who understands that shipping deadlines represent real\-world impact. You thrive in a role where you own your space and your outcomes.
* Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Benefits
Part Time position, ineligible for benefits. Salary base starts at $20\-00 to $22\.00 per hour. Scheduled in\-office at the Neptune City, New Jersey office up to 28 hours per week, Monday through Friday during business hours, 9am \- 1pm \- with flexibility to accommodate work load and volunteers.
