The team provides comprehensive care to support the health and well\-being of infants and children, including:
- Primary medical care for infants and children
- Childhood immunizations
- Routine physical examinations
- Preventive care and wellness services
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
- Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm (4 days per week)
- One 4\-hour shift each week
- Rotating weekend coverage
- role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at providing patient care and administrative support within a healthcare practice. Key duties include greeting and assisting patients both virtually and on\-site, rooming patients, and preparing them for visits by taking and recording vital signs. The *Medical Assistant I
- performs point of care testing, administers injections and medications, and conducts EKGs when needed. Support for clinicians during examinations and procedures is critical, and this includes preparing treatment rooms with essential supplies, completing patient\-specific paperwork, and ensuring that electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results for subsequent visits. The *Medical Assistant I
- handles patient callbacks with information as directed by providers and follows state guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment. The *Medical Assistant I
- manages prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills, schedules tests and surgeries, and performs quality control on point of care testing equipment. The *Medical Assistant I
- offer documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures, undertake clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors, troubleshoot issues with video visits, and help patients utilize ChristianaCare’s Patient Portal. Safety is paramount, as the *Medical Assistant I
- is responsible for working safely, adhering to departmental safety rules, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or violations that could potentially harm patients, staff, or visitors.
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range: $19\.10 \- $27\.69
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
