    Newark \- Pediatric Associates \| ChristianaCare

    As a *Medical Assistant I*, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on\-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice.

    Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm (4 days per week)
  • One 4\-hour shift each week

    Duties / Responsibilities:

    The *Medical Assistant I

  • role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at providing patient care and administrative support within a healthcare practice. Key duties include greeting and assisting patients both virtually and on\-site, rooming patients, and preparing them for visits by taking and recording vital signs. The
  • *Medical Assistant I
  • performs point of care testing, administers injections and medications, and conducts EKGs when needed. Support for clinicians during examinations and procedures is critical, and this includes preparing treatment rooms with essential supplies, completing patient\-specific paperwork, and ensuring that electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results for subsequent visits.   • handles patient callbacks with information as directed by providers and follows state guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment. The

  • manages prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills, schedules tests and surgeries, and performs quality control on point of care testing equipment. The

  • Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range: $19\.10 \- $27\.69

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
