- High School diploma or equivalent
- One (1\) year of experience maintaining or processing records including but not limited to: medical/dental records, legal records, property records, administrative records, clerical records, etc.
- One (1\) year of experience in customer service

- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with co\-workers, the public, and criminal justice agencies
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems under highly stressful or adverse situations
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively
- One year experience maintaining or processing offender records such as legal files, property files, grievance files, administrative files, medical files, parole files, counselor or custody files in a government law enforcement office, court setting, or an adult or juvenile correctional agency
- College\-level course work in criminal justice, business administration, accounting, social science, or a related field Knowledge of criminal history processing
- One (1\) year of experience providing customer service working in a 911 dispatch or other type of call center environment
- One (1\) year of experience working within the Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) program Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint Washington State Patrol ACCESS certified

Correctional Records Technician \| Warrants UnitFull Time \| PermanentLocation: Headquarters \| Tumwater, WASalary Range: $4,184 \- $5,610 Monthly This position is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees. This position is scheduled to work 1:00PM – 9:00PM, Tuesday through Saturday with regular days off being Sunday/Monday. The candidate of choice will be required to work each shift in office.
The Records mission is to accurately apply legal document information to DOC, the public, and offenders so they can trust established jurisdictions. The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a detail oriented and collaborative individual to join the Warrants Unit as a Correctional Records Technician (CRT)! The goal of this position is to maintain the security, accuracy and control of physical and electronic DOC Secretary’s Warrant records within the agency.
As a Correctional Records Technician, you are tasked by the agency to be the custodian of records. In this role, you will support the DOC's mission, vision and commitment by processing all DOC Secretary's Warrant records for individuals who are on escape or abscond status from confinement or within the community. Additionally, you will assist DOC staff and law enforcement in the apprehension and extradition of individuals with active DOC Secretary's Warrants and serve as the DOC after\-hours contact for immediate/critical issues and action(s) needed for law enforcement regarding individuals under DOC jurisdiction.
The candidate of choice must have exceptional confidentiality skills while also analyzing and solving problems under highly stressful or adverse situations. A completed application packet will include:

As a Correctional Records Technician, some of your duties will include:
+ Receiving, inputting, validating and removing DOC Secretary’s Warrant and other information into and from OMNIXX and OMNI database systems in support of Community Corrections Officers (CCO's), Indeterminate Sentencing Review Board {ISRB), Interstate Compact and Prisons caseloads and in compliance with DOC Policy, WSP ACCESS Operations Manual and FBI/CJIS Security Policy
+ Editing, modifying and supplementing DOC Secretary's Warrant records to ensure complete and accurate information is recorded
+ Verifying electronic database information against source documents and resolving problems that relate to DOC Secretary's Warrants
+ Monitoring, processing and responding to emails received in the Warrants Unit Outlook mailbox
+ Correspond with appropriate DOC staff, law enforcement and jail/prison staff to resolve discrepancies or other issues related to DOC Secretary's Warrants or Holds.
+ Confirm jurisdiction, validity and extradition limitations of DOC Secretary's Warrants for law enforcement agencies and DOC staff.
+ Issue authorization teletypes to detain/arrest individuals on DOC Secretary’s Warrants, locally and nationwide, to jail/prison facilities.
