Reports to: PresidentLocation: The job is 100% remote, however, candidate must reside in one of the states in which Ampact operates: CA, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KY, MN, MS, NY, WI, VA.About the Organization: Ampact is a national 501c3 that implements evidence\-based AmeriCorps programs in multiple states. Ampact receives most of its funding from federal, state and local government grants.About the Job: The VP of Development and Marketing is a new role for the organization and part of the organization’s plan to strengthen its brand nationally and increase foundation, corporate and individual giving. The role will provide strategic leadership and execution oversight for all fundraising and marketing efforts of the organization. This role is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening brand presence, and advancing the mission through integrated development and marketing strategies aligned with organizational priorities.

The role will work in collaboration with other key leaders, including:* Executive Directors are responsible for the revenue strategy in their state, including setting and achieving fundraising goals. This role will provide centralized tools, resources and support for Executive Directors to support their efforts in cultivating and stewarding donors and funders in their state.

  • The
  • SVP of Regional Leadership supervises the Executive Directors and is responsible for supporting the overall revenue strategy in each state, including federal, state and local funding. The SVP of Regional Leadership will be a key collaborator in supporting Executive Directors.

  • The
  • Chief Policy and Growth Officer is responsible for public policy, growth in new markets and external relations. The Chief Policy and Growth Officer will be a key collaborator in overall strategy and assessing new opportunities with multi\-state or national funders.

  • The
  • Director of Grant Admin is responsible for grant administration for all federal, state and other grants including contracting, compliance, administrative support for grant management.

    The VP of Development and Marketing will have two direct reports: (1\) Development Manager and (2\) Marketing and Communications Manager (who manages a team of four).

    Our organization’s marketing and communication efforts have focused largely on recruiting AmeriCorps members, and we’re shifting to create space for our marketing and communication efforts to also support our revenue generation goals.   • JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Vice President of Development and Marketing provide strategic leadership and execution oversight for all fundraising and marketing efforts of the organization. This role is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening brand presence, and advancing the mission through integrated development and marketing strategies aligned with organizational priorities.

    Responsibilities:

    Enterprise Fundraising Strategy \& Revenue Growth

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive national fundraising strategy across foundation, corporate, and individual giving.
  • Set and achieve annual and multi\-year fundraising goals in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Oversee donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to deepen engagement and retention.
  • Analyze fundraising performance data to guide strategy, investment decisions, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide centralized training, resources and support to Executive Directors who are accountable for fundraising in their states.
  • Collaborate with leadership on revenue strategy to sustain and grow in existing and new states.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical, legal, and regulatory standards related to fundraising activities.
  • Marketing, Brand, \& Communications Leadership

  • Provide strategic oversight of marketing, communications, and brand positioning to support fundraising, member recruitment, and mission impact.
  • Ensure consistent, compelling messaging across digital, print, media, and stakeholder communications.
  • Align marketing campaigns with development goals to drive awareness, engagement, and donor conversion.
  • Oversee digital strategy, including web presence, email marketing, and social media platforms.
  • Monitor brand performance and market trends to adapt messaging and outreach strategies.
  • Leadership, Collaboration \& Organizational Impact

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high\-performing development and marketing teams.
  • Partner closely with the President, executive leadership, executive directors, and board to advance fundraising priorities.
  • Support President in board engagement for fundraising through training, tools, and strategic involvement.
  • Foster cross\-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between programs, finance, and development.
  • At the direction of the President represent the organization externally with donors, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit development or advancement.
  • Demonstrated success building and leading large\-scale, multi\-channel fundraising programs with measurable results.
  • Experience overseeing marketing, communications, or brand strategy in a mission\-driven organization.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and data\-driven decision\-making skills.
  • Experience leading and developing senior\-level teams in a complex organization.
  • Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and boards in a national nonprofit environment.
