Position Overview
TCLP is seeking a part\-time Accounting Clerk to support our finance team with general accounting activities including reconciliations and report preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and review invoices for Energy Optimization Program rebates, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation prior to payment.
- Verify rebate eligibility, supporting materials, and required approvals in accordance with program guidelines.
- Reconcile payroll hours from the payroll system to the work order system, ensuring labor hours are accurately allocated.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payroll records and project or work order charges.
- Perform checks on the equipment cost allocated through the work order system.
- Perform routine reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules.
- Identify, research, and correct variances or unusual transactions in miscellaneous accounts.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year\-end closing processes as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Communicate with internal departments to obtain information needed to resolve accounting issues.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting.
- Strong knowledge of mathematical and accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically excel and word.
- Proficient with the use of a personal computer to prepare reports, maintain records, search for and compile data.
- Proficient in the use of 10\-key calculator.
- Thorough knowledge of office practices, systems, procedures and equipment, including but not limited to adding machines, photocopiers, multi\-line phone systems, e\-mail and internet.
- Ability to be detail oriented, work independently, stay organized, manage and monitor multiple tasks/projects, and produce deliverables timely.
- Ability to analyze information, apply logic and interpretation skills to make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate sound ethics, good judgement and confidentiality of information.
