Driver’s License: Level 1\- Driver's License Required.

Rate of Pay: $69,240\.53 to $77,895\.59

Responsibilities: Personnel management of staff in The Dental Department as directed. This includes completing their annual appraisals, approving leave time, monitoring their work, ensuring proper coverage of duties when they are on leave, training for their duties, and any disciplinary actions necessary.

Perform responsibilities of job description and as needed to maintain dental services for patients and provide non\-clinical supervision of all auxiliary staff as directed by department leadership.

Follow through with Quality Improvement Reports in the absence of the department leadership.

Provides and oversees dental office administrative duties .

Network with Human Services Division departments and other FDL Divisions to improve patient services.

Oversee primary provider schedules and arrange for auxiliary support to ensure clinical efficiency and review staff requests for leave to ensure clinic coverage is adequate and manage roster employee schedules to cover for absence of regular employees on approved leave in the absence of the Director \- Dental.

Confirm accuracy of completed timecards and approve in absence of department leadership.

Monitor employee continuing education records to ensure bi\-annual requirements are met for licensure, verify that costs are in line with budget guidelines, and review dental personnel records for current licensure, registration, and required vaccination records.

Assist with the preparation of the monthly staff meeting agenda and conduct meeting in the absence of the Director \-Dental.

Assist department leadership with updating Policies, Procedures, Protocols, and the Dental Manual.

Serve as the liaison for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and participate in the development of quality indicators.

Assist with pediatric care conferences as requested.

Assist in ordering supplies, maintaining inventory lists for all dental products, supplies, equipment and materials. Ensure proper maintenance of emergency equipment and record checks, repairs, and replacement of equipment. Sign purchase orders in the absence of the Director \- Dental.

Coordinate with maintenance department to ensure proper cleaning practices are used and that services are adequate for patient protection and safety.

Update and distribute phone tree of dental employees to improve communication of weather\-related closures or delays.

Follow occupational safety guidelines for dental office personnel.

Provide support for ongoing projects and programs within the department.

Must attend all mandatory department trainings.

Oversee under the direction of the director\-dental the financial management of the dental lab program.

Oversee under the direction of the director\-dental the financial management of the dental orthodontic program.

Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.

Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.

Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co\-workers.

Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.

Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.

Maintains a clean and organized work area.

  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
  • Qualifications: Valid Driver’s License issued in the US is required.

    Bachelor's degree (or greater in business, accounting, healthcare administration or related field is required.

    CPR Certification is required; if not certified at the time of hire, employee must become certified within 6 months of hire. Employment is contingent upon this requirement and must maintain certification for duration of employment.

    Three years of supervisory experience is required.

    Two years of dental office clinical experience is required.

    Five years of financial management experience is required.

    Dental electronic billing experience is required.

    Experience with creating, revising, and monitoring budgets is required.

    Experience with dental electronic medical record systems is required.

    Knowledge of dental terminology is required.

    Familiarity with health care, dental and human services laws, regulations and standards is required.

    Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, databases and/or data entry, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook is required.

    Three years of dental or health care administrative support is preferred.

    Knowledge of standards of care in infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations is preferred.

    Previous customer service experience preferred.

    Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs, and beliefs is preferred.

    Five years’ experience working with Native American clients, communities and the ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is preferred.

    Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.

    Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.

    Attention to detail and accuracy is required.

    Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.

    Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.

    Subject to pre\-employment and annual background checks.

    Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.

    Some travel may be required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling are required.

  • All employees shall thoroughly wash hands and arms with soap and water before starting work and wash hands during work hours as often as may be required, removing soil and contamination as well as after visiting the washroom as needed.
