Job Summary
The Facilities Service Center Specialist I organizes and coordinates the processing of work orders and requests for the campus, ensuring a safe, functional, and clean environment. This position is responsible for providing high\-quality support with a strong focus on customer service.
Core Responsibilities
+ Responsible for the prompt handling, data entry, and coordination of the work requests submitted to the department.
+ Provides work orders to the shops and other Facility sections.
+ Reviews maintenance and service requests to create work orders that are assigned to Facilities departments for action.
+ Assists in determining work priorities based on the needs and urgency of the work order.
+ Assists in scheduling technicians to work orders based on the Facilities structure, technical skills, and availability.
+ Provides customer service by acting as a liaison between the University community and Facilities staff and interacting with customers in person, over the phone, and through e\-mail.
+ Reviews and enters daily logs and verifies labor entries before closing work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
+ Determines required task codes to be attached to work orders and assigns the work to the appropriate department(s).
+ Prepares monthly billing for various internal maintenance services.
+ Takes a proactive approach to assist co\-workers in various tasks, to ensure safety.
+ Performs work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with work instructions.
+ Proactively makes recommendations to improve safety.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
+ High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field.
+ One (1\) year of related work experience.
+ This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
+ One (1\) year of experience in work order management or in a call/service center.
+ Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or call/service center software/system.

Working Conditions
+ Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business\-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary depending on the department's needs.
Physical Demands
+ Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary; if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
This position will primarily work from a remote location in Texas and rarely needs to be on campus. When an employee is required to work on campus, travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
