North Reading High School is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to provide Principal, Main Office, and school\-wide support. This position is five (5\) days per week (Monday through Friday), approximately 40 hours/week, and 52 weeks/year.

Essential duties
- Serve as the primary receptionist for High School Main Office
- Assist in the efficient operation of the High School Main Office
- Serve as primary support for building Principal
- + maintain Principal's calendar
- Support daily attendance recording and data management
- + recording/data entry for daily student attendance
- Execute all order and inventory needs for all High School departments using MUNIS. This includes, but is not limited to:
- + developing, submitting, and organizing purchase orders
- Assist with the integrity of student and faculty information management including:
- + entering initial and updated information into the database (Rediker)
- Collaborate with District offices such as Business Office and Student Services
- Assist in all equipment (photocopier, mail machine, etc.) throughout building, including ordering supplies and making service calls as needed
- Manage school's parking permit system in collaboration with administration
- Assist school administration in preparing for school\-wide events including, but not limited to,:
- + graduation
- Support building and community communication including, but not limited to,:
- + conduct morning announcements
- Serve as the liaison for outside vendors, school sponsored groups, and visitors
- Develop and submit reports as needed to payroll, accounts payable, student services, building administration, etc.
- Distribute mail
- Coordinate CORI checks on all volunteers, interns, and outside subcontractors
- Processes work permits for Town of North Reading youth as requested
- Perform additional duties at the discretion of the Administrator, Building Principal, and/or Direct Supervisor
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time\-management skills
- Strong public relations skills
- Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential information
- Knowledge and expertise in word processing applications, database, spreadsheet, and Google\-based/Microsoft Word applications
- 1\-3 years relevant experience, ideally as an office Administrative Assistant or in a school setting
- Experience with school/district management software such as Rediker, MUNIS, Frontline, etc. preferred
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and manage time efficiently in a busy environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa

+ recording/data entry for student discipline related to attendance; i.e. daily detention roster
+ track student dismissals, change of dismissals, and release of students
+ assist school administration in scheduling student/parent/guardian meetings
+ assist in monitoring/recording data for daily faculty attendance
+ assist in planning teacher coverage and duties as needed (absences and meetings)
+ ordering general supplies, books, laptops, software, furniture, etc.
+ keeping an inventory of all supplies upon delivery
+ working with Principal regarding spending from department accounts
+ ordering from Amazon.com
+ - information includes home addresses, home and cell phone numbers, emergency contact numbers, and e\-mail addresses, etc.
+ mailing student documents, letters, and other correspondence as needed
+ tracking and collecting payment for all extra\-curricular activities
+ collecting all emergency, consent, and agreement information/registrations for all students
+ collecting and organizing all faculty forms
+ parent\-teacher conferences
+ student recognition night
+ field trips
+ MCAS, PSAT, SAT, and AP testing
+ first and last day of school
+ prepare and send daily emails as coordinated by building administration
+ intercom announcements as necessary
+ answer telephone and forward calls
+ provide general information to all callers and visitors, and identifying when support is needed to provide accurate information
+ prepare correspondences, major mailings, newsletters, brochures, notices, and a variety of materials for distribution to students, staff, and parents/guardians
+ manage messaging through Messages XR
+ maintain school’s calendar of events
+ maintain staff directory on website
+ prepare student handbook in collaboration with building administrators
+ draft Program of Studies
+ prepare Annual Report for the high school in collaboration with building administrators
Requirements
Additional benefits as outlined in the North Reading Administrative Assistants' Association contract. Annualized pay and paid time off will be prorated to start date.
