- Assists library staff with the implementation of Children and Youth library programs and outreach in the community including: greeting patrons; counting attendance; completing set\-up and takedown; distributing summer reading program prizes.
- Create relationships with staff and customers of all ages.
- Requires ability to attend events in a variety of locations; the incumbent is responsible for their own transportation to and from events
- Provides high quality customer service; works directly with the public
- Maintains a welcoming and safe environment that supports patrons and community members
- Participates in event planning and preparation, including administrative tasks (e.g. printing flyers) and physical tasks (e.g. moving tables, chairs, equipment)
- Assists staff with programs, services, outreach, displays, promotional materials, and other tasks as needed
- Supports events, programs and services on\-site
- Performs general administrative tasks under direct supervision to support data entry and general marketing duties
- Attends regularly scheduled required meetings and actively participates and contributes to discussions and group activities. Participates in the planning and implementation of community events.
- Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. Uses all required safety equipment.

- High School diploma / GED, or working towards completion of diploma/GED
- 1 year experience (formal or informal) childcare \- preferred
The Broomfield Children’s Library is hiring Teen Assistants to support staff with summer library programming that promotes literacy and youth engagement. This position is scheduled 10 hours per week during the Summer (May 27 \- August 7\). Shifts are typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings with some evenings and weekends required.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: \- Must be between the ages of 14 and 19 years old and live and/or go to school in Broomfield or have a strong connection to Broomfield as determined by the department. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre\-offer and post\-offer/hire processes: in\-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, and background checks, which may include local police check and sex\-offender registry.
