The primary objective of this role is to support the Children’s Team in administering the Summer Meals Program/Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), with a focus on monitoring meal sites for compliance. The ideal candidate for this position is focused, hardworking, an excellent communicator, and dedicated to the mission of the Food Bank. Reporting to the Children’s Program Manager on the Children’s Team, this position is highly visible externally, requiring strong relationship management and communication skills.

The duration of this seasonal role is May 11th, 2025, to August 7th, 2025, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours each week.

As the Summer Program Coordinator, you will:

  • Communicate with program partners to schedule site visits and reviews
  • Conduct daily virtual and/or in\-person site visits and site reviews for compliance with Food Bank, USDA, and Feeding America Guidelines to ensure meal sites operate in accordance with program requirements
  • Ensure required records are maintained at each partner site throughout the duration of the program in accordance with program requirements
  • Observe meal service operations of all meal sites, checking for food safety
  • Identify and review compliance violations with meal site staff, providing excellent customer service and detailed corrective action plans, providing technical assistance as needed
  • Provide critical and constructive feedback in a professional and solution\-oriented manner
  • Schedule and conduct follow\-up site visits and/or site reviews, as necessary
  • Encourage site staff to share feedback and insights, creating a supportive environment to strengthen partner relationships
  • Provide timely communication to Partner Managers, reporting site compliance violations and elevating critical issues, as necessary
  • Organize and maintain site review documentation and tracking
  • Perform other duties to support the work of the Children’s Team as assigned
  • You are a great candidate if you have:

  • Experience with program administration and data entry in a professional office setting
  • Experience with customer service or direct client services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency with the internet and learning new technology
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other Food Bank staff in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to communicate with diverse individuals and organizations, adapting communication style to provide high quality customer service
  • Ability to represent the Food Bank in a professional manner while working with program partners
  • Highly organized and detail\-oriented, with the ability follow standard protocol while adhering to deadlines in a high\-energy, fast\-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully manage regular and timely communications both internally and with program partners
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and to work independently
  • Commitment to serving children in accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy which strictly prohibits this program from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability
  • Bonus points for:

  • Spanish language skills
  • Familiarity with meal service or food distribution programs

Working Conditions

Hours of Operation: Organization hours are Monday\-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., however, you schedule may change day\-to\-day.

Environment: This position works in a typical office setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. Occasional work will occur in the warehouse or outside in inclement weather. The noise is the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Travel: CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same\-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.

You will need to complete to a pre\-hire background check and drug test.
