MISSION STATEMENT
Do you enjoy organizing work, helping leaders stay focused on what matters most, and making sure programs run smoothly behind the scenes? This role offers an opportunity to support a team working every day to strengthen access to justice across Colorado.
The Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (ADC) seeks an Executive \& Training Specialist to support a mission\-driven statewide agency. This position supports executive leadership and coordinates trainings for legal teams who provide court\-appointed defense representation across Colorado.
The ADC is the legislatively created state agency responsible for providing client services and legal representation for indigent individuals (adults and youth) when the state has charged them with a criminal or delinquent act, and the state public defender’s office has a conflict of interest. Traditionally, the ADC has accomplished this by contracting with over 400 private attorneys and another 500 legal service providers (forensic social workers/clinical advocates, paralegals, investigators, legal researchers, case assistants, etc.) to provide client services on an hourly basis. Our fundamental belief is that good holistic legal defense teams produce good results for our clients.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Executive \& Training Specialist works closely with the ADC leadership team to organize leadership initiatives, prepare communications and materials, coordinate meetings, and keep key processes moving forward. The position also helps plan and coordinate statewide virtual and in\-person trainings, including managing logistics such as scheduling, vendor and guest speaker coordination, training communications, and tracking and reconciliation of training expenses.
The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, attention to detail, and comfort working with a variety of leadership styles and technology tools. The Executive \& Training Specialist must be able to manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
