Contract Mental Health Counselor\- SOTP
Overview
We are seeking a qualified Contract Counselor to provide Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) services to clients in Albuquerque, New Mexico and through virtual telehealth sessions throughout NM. This is a contract position offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Everything is ready for you: two office locations, EHR system, referrals, etc. If you are fully licensed and want to work part time (or full time) in a private practice that offers 100% autonomy, you found the right place. All you have to do is see clients. We take care of the rest!
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for clients enrolled in the Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP)
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups focused on accountability, empathy development, relapse prevention, and behavioral change
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state regulations and program requirements
- Collaborate with probation/parole officers, case managers, and other treatment providers as needed
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions accordingly
- Conduct risk assessments and provide clinical recommendations
- Ensure compliance with all ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements
- Participate in clinical supervision and consultation as required
- Prior experience facilitating SOTP groups
- Familiarity with New Mexico Sentencing Commission standards and SOTP requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly valued
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Training in evidence\-based practices such as CBT, DBT, or Motivational Interviewing
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building therapeutic rapport
- Cultural competency and sensitivity
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule

- Competitive contract rates commensurate with experience. Pay range between $100\-$150 per hour

- Do you have a MINIMUM of 2 years working in SOTP settings?
Required Qualifications
* Education: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution
* Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice in New Mexico (LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, or Psychologist)
* Experience: *Minimum 2 years of clinical experience working in court\-mandated SOTP programs*
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of trauma\-informed care, cognitive\-behavioral interventions, and relapse prevention strategies
* Technology: Proficient with telehealth platforms and electronic health records systems
