Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $65,000 to $75,000\. Position Summary The Visiting Associate Director of International Recruitment and Compliance serves as a key leader within the unit, responsible for the tactical implementation of UIC's international enrollment strategy. Reporting to the Director of International Recruitment and Compliance, this position will co\-develop the annual international recruitment plan, manage the technical day\-to\-day administration of recruitment operations, and provide direct supervision, training, and development to recruitment staff. Duties \& Responsibilities • International Recruitment and Strategic Support • Collaborate with the Director of International Recruitment and Compliance to develop and execute the annual international recruitment plan in alignment with division and institutional enrollment goals. • Coordinate and manage day\-to\-day international recruitment activities, including travel planning, events, virtual outreach, and territory assignments to ensure targeted market coverage. • Assist with market research and analysis to identify recruitment opportunities, assess performance, and inform tactical adjustments. • Collaborate with campus partners to identify and address barriers to international student application completion, admission, and yield. • Student Engagement and Yield Management • Collaborate with the Director of International Recruitment and Compliance to support the design and implementation of a comprehensive, multi\-channel engagement strategy for prospective students and families. • In consultation with the Director, implement frameworks to manage special requests and serve as primary escalation point for complex recruitment and admission challenges. • Support development of cross\-functional initiatives with campus stakeholders to identify systemic barriers to and opportunities to international enrollment. • Team Leadership and Development • Manage the operational workflow of the recruitment unit and supervise assigned international recruitment staff, including planning, assigning, and reviewing work to ensure unit goals are met. • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of recruitment staff. • Champion staff development, support performance management, coaching, and feedback processes to promote recruiter effectiveness and growth. • Foster alignment with SRO recruitment standards, messaging, and data practices. • Recruitment Systems, Data, and Compliance • Support the development and lead monitoring of key performance indicators and productivity metrics, providing leadership with continuous transparency into recruitment funnel health. • Monitor recruitment activity reporting, data integrity, and proper coding within Slate and other recruitment systems. • Assist with the development and maintenance of operational and productivity reports related to international recruitment. • Standardize training and best practice guidelines to staff and campus partners on recruitment systems, data entry standards, and reporting expectations. • Manage daily process coordination of contracted recruiter compliance framework by assisting with documentation, ensuring adherence to institutional to institutional, legal, and regulatory requirements related to international recruitment. • Serve as a contracted recruiter resource to staff and campus partners on recruitment\-related policies and procedures. • Leadership and Collaboration • Serve as a liaison for IRC unit on internal committees or working groups as assigned. • Cultivate strategic, cross\-departmental partnerships with domestic recruitment teams, admissions offices, international student services, and academic units to ensure coordinated outreach. • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, or international education.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff or leading functional work within a recruitment or admissions context.
Knowledge of international student recruitment practices and student advising.
Experience working with CRM systems (Slate preferred) and recruitment data.
Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred.
Direct experience with international recruitment markets or international student services.
Familiarity with compliance considerations related to international recruitment and third\-party partnerships.
Experience analyzing recruitment data and translating insights into operational action.
Engagement with professional organizations such as NAFSA, AIRC, TAICEP, or ICEF.
