- Manages a project funded by the Florida Department of Education, ensuring alignment with project goals and deliverables.
- Reviews referral requests to determine student eligibility, identifies cases requiring additional assessment, and assigns appropriate low vision specialists.
- Collects, analyzes, and maintains baseline and annual data for participating students, families, and teachers; oversees data collection conducted by trained student assistants.
- Collaborates with the Lead Project Researcher to coordinate supervision and implement training activities that support project objectives.
- Coordinates clinical low vision evaluations, including scheduling, travel authorization processing, purchasing, and procurement of prescribed optical aids.
- Provides low vision training, basic reading inventories, and technical assistance to participating teachers and families; prepares and distributes required training summaries and low vision reports.
- Maintains the Project Tracking System to monitor quarterly deliverables; prepares quarterly service summaries and the annual project report.
- Establishes payment procedures for eye specialists and vendors; supports purchasing processes, invoice submission, and purchase order closeout in coordination with administrative staff.
- Maintains ongoing collaboration with university faculty, staff, and students, including guest lecturing and conducting training workshops across Florida.
- Selects, trains, and supervises student assistants supporting project data collection and interpretation.

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in teaching children with visual impairments.
- Florida certification as a TVI or ability to obtain Florida TVI certification.
- Minimum of five years of direct teaching experience as a TVI.
- Minimum of five years working in a public\-school setting.
- Prior experience with the Florida Low Vision Initiative or an organized statewide low vision project.
- Prior experience developing IEPs for students with visual impairments.
- Extensive experience conducting FVLMAs.
- Extensive experience teaching the use of low vision tools and strategies to students with visual impairments.
- Experience presenting at a local or state level.

Responsibilities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to administrative services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of relevant experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
Valid State of Florida Teaching Certification.

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $52,000, commensurate with education and experience.
