Acute Rescue is searching for a key member of our Administrative and Human Resources team. The Human Resources Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our HR department in its day\-to\-day operations. This individual will be instrumental in creating a positive work environment by ensuring that HR processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with all company policies and regulations, as well as assisting with scheduling and data entry.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist with the recruitment process by posting job ads, scheduling interviews, updating job descriptions, and maintaining candidate databases within HRIS.

Support onboarding processes for new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and training coordination as needed.

Maintain and update employee records (physical and digital) ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Updating HRIS database for changes in levels, supervisory functions, and positions.

Assist in organizing and scheduling HR and training events, training sessions, interviews and meetings.

Update HR documents with Administrative leadership’s guidance on documents such as employment contracts, handbooks and guidebooks, and company policies as changes occur, and present to HR Generalist and President for final approval and implementation.

Support performance management procedures, including assisting in the preparation of performance review forms, annual reviews, and merit based reviews.

Maintains comprehension of the organization’s services, policies, and procedures.

Works with the team to ensure training, disciplinary action, and compliance where necessary.

Demonstrates competency working with innovative and evolving technology.

Assists HR Generalist and Administration create new position job descriptions and duties, job requisitions, and creates the positions in HRIS software with appropriate positions, seats, supervision, etc.

Any other tasks as assigned by the HR Generalist or other Administrative leadership.

Assist the Resource Planner, HR Generalist, and Education Department, in coordinating staffing needs for all locations and standby events, as well as new employee ride\-along trainings and coordination with EMS training facilities for clinical hours for students.

#### Staff Support

Leads by example and promotes a positive company culture that focuses on providing strong staff support and fostering open communication and development for all staff.

Assists with the oversight of current recognition programs and suggests new ways of showing staff appreciation.

Promotes mental health initiatives to assist staff with their overall wellness.

Assists as needed with employee actions such as disciplinary actions and meetings, terminations, and investigations in accordance with company policy.

Assists new employees and applicants progressing through hiring workflow as needed.

Conducts HRIS (Paycom) and policy document audits as needed to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Suggests and implements ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency in the department, with a strong focus on utilizing technology as a tool to achieve this.

Work with HRIS (Paycom) account managers and HR Generalist to ensure employee records are up to date and all deductions, pay rates, position changes, DOL status, are correct.

Performs other duties as assigned.

#### Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 1 year experience in HR or HR Administration for EMS or healthcare related field.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including being comfortable with proof\-reading and error correction

Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Knowledge of employment\-related laws and regulations.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS (Paycom) and talent management systems.

#### Preferred/Encouraged Skills or Qualifications:

Prior experience in EMS or understanding of EMS staffing models and requirements.

Prior experience managing HRIS (Paycom) employee and client records and database.
