Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support within our medical facility. This position requires a well\-rounded individual with experience in various medical settings, including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high\-quality care to patients while ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Duties
- Perform patient intake, including gathering medical histories and conducting initial assessments.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and provide support in the operating room (OR).
- Conduct EHR data entry and maintain accurate patient records.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow\-up care.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and ICD coding practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient service experiences.
- Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably in dermatology, urgent care, or hospital medicine.
- Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and emergency medicine protocols.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient documentation.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient environments is preferred.
- Ability to perform X\-ray procedures as needed; Level I or II trauma center experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and service.
- Previous experience in geriatrics, PICU, or medical\-surgical settings is advantageous.
