The City Grocery Restaurant Group is seeking an energetic Bookkeeper/Office Assistant to oversee our office functions and help ensure the smooth running of our restaurants. This role at its core will handle all essential bookkeeping responsibilities—all while helping foster a positive, productive environment and stay in clear communication with peers. Responsibilities:
- Handle bookkeeping duties using QuickBooks—tracking expenses, reconciling accounts, helping managing payroll, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Help with human resources functions such as onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel files, assisting with benefits administration, and supporting compliance efforts.
- Assist in budgeting processes by monitoring expenditures, preparing financial reports, and identifying cost\-saving opportunities.
- Maintain organized filing systems—both digital and physical—and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Effectively communicating with members of management.
- Keeping a good working relationship and open communication with the company’s remote accounting team.
- Assisting the Operations Director in miscellaneous daily functions.
- Organizational skills.
- Bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks or comparable software.
- Office experience and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of vendor management processes including invoice processing.
- Familiarity with payroll administration, budgeting, and basic human resources functions.
- Calendar management skills.
- Exceptional clerical skills including filing and data entry
- Experience in catering is a plus.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent phone etiquette combined with professional communication skills—both verbal and written.
