Job Overview

We are seeking a detail\-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing front desk operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the medical office. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and familiarity with various electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check\-in process.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently.
  • Handle phone inquiries using multi\-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
  • Verify patient insurance information and manage medical collections as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans and coding (ICD\-9, ICD\-10, CPT).
  • Assist with medical billing processes and coordinate with insurance companies for claims processing.
  • Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and ensure effective communication within the clinic.
  • Support administrative functions such as intake processes and maintaining a clean front desk area.
  • Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD coding), and billing practices is essential.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to operate multi\-line phone systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
