Passion Care Home Health, LLC is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and detail\-oriented Medical Assistant to support the delivery of high\-quality, patient\-centered care in a home health setting. The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in assisting nurses and other healthcare professionals with clinical and administrative tasks that promote patient safety, comfort and well\-being.

This position requires strong interpersonal skills, clinical competence and the ability to work independently in patients’ homes while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Support

Assist licensed nurses and healthcare providers with direct patient care in accordance with the established plan of care.

Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, oxygen saturation, and weight.

Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.

Assist with basic wound care, dressing changes, and specimen collection as directed by a licensed provider.

Administer medications as permitted by state regulations and under appropriate supervision.

Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse promptly.

Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility assistance and hygiene support when necessary.

Ensure proper infection control practices are followed in the home setting.

Patient Care Coordination

Assist with scheduling patient visits and coordinating care services.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.

Reinforce patient education provided by nurses or therapists, including medication instructions and safety guidance.

Promote patient independence while maintaining safety standards.

Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and families.

Documentation and Administrative Duties

Accurately document patient interactions, vital signs, and care activities in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Maintain up\-to\-date patient records in compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards.

Verify patient information and ensure documentation is complete and timely.

Assist with maintaining clinical supply inventory and equipment readiness.

Participate in quality assurance activities and internal audits as required.

Compliance and Safety

Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing home health services.

Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and protect patient confidentiality at all times.

Follow infection prevention and control protocols.

Report incidents, accidents, or safety concerns promptly to the Clinical Supervisor.

Maintain current certifications and complete required continuing education.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or required based on state regulations.

Current CPR/BLS certification required.

Experience

Minimum of one (1\) year of clinical experience preferred; home health experience strongly preferred.

Experience working with elderly, disabled, or chronically ill patients is highly desirable.

Familiarity with electronic health records and mobile documentation systems preferred.

Strong knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology.

Work Environment

The Medical Assistant will primarily work in patients’ homes, which may vary in location and condition. This role requires travel to patient residences within the designated service area. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license may be required.

The position may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions and requires adherence to safety and infection control protocols. The Medical Assistant must be comfortable working independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and team members.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.

Ability to assist patients with mobility and transfers.

Manual dexterity to perform clinical tasks.

Ability to travel between patient homes.
