JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

Our Medical Assistants support the day\-to\-day clinical and administrative needs of patients, customers, and providers, ensuring the efficient, consistent delivery of patient care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greeting patients/visitors, answering calls, scheduling appointments, maintaining/scanning patient medical records.
  • Use of practice EMR software.
  • Contact patients for visit reminders. Follow up reviews, patient aftercare, and general contact.
  • Perform and document patient care\- related tasks as assigned by the clinic manager, nurse practitioner, and/or physician. These may include but are not limited to; preparing exam room and equipment, obtaining the reason for the visit, checking vital signs, performing phlebotomy according to established procedure; obtaining blood samples in proper tubes and with appropriate timing if required, based on testing ordered, and completing related paperwork.
  • Prepare patients for provider visits, taking blood pressure, weight, BFA, BPM, and reporting patient history summary.
  • Medical Assistant Qualifications/Skills:

  • Basic skill with a computer keyboard, data entry functions.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills as well as customer service excellence.
