Mortgage Loan Officer

Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail\-oriented Mortgage Loan Originator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage process, from initial consultation to loan closing. You will leverage your financial sales expertise and strong negotiation skills to provide exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including Fair Housing and TILA. Your ability to analyze credit and financial information will be crucial in helping clients secure the best mortgage options available. Duties Develop and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other referral sources to generate leads. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' financial situations to determine appropriate loan products. Guide clients through the loan origination process, including application completion and documentation collection. Negotiate loan terms and conditions with lenders on behalf of clients. Ensure compliance with FNMA guidelines, Fair Housing regulations, and other relevant laws throughout the loan process. Collaborate with underwriting and mortgage servicing teams to facilitate smooth processing of loans. Utilize financial software and accounting tools for accurate record\-keeping and reporting. Provide ongoing support to clients post\-closing, addressing any questions or concerns regarding their loans. Requirements Must currently hold an active MLO license or be willing to obtain one in any of the following states: CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, MD, MS, NV, TX, VA, AL Proven experience in financial sales or as a loan officer with a strong understanding of mortgage products. Proficiency in loan origination, processing, and underwriting procedures. Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, and Fair Housing laws. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building lasting relationships. Basic math skills for accurate calculations related to loans and interest rates. Experience using accounting software and financial services tools. Ability to perform credit analysis and evaluate contracts effectively. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple loans simultaneously. Proficient typing skills (10 key typing) for efficient data entry.
