Job Summary ------------------- The Manager of Health Services provides strategic and operational leadership for Emmaus Homes' nursing oversight and health services functions. This role is responsible for supervising and developing RN Case Managers, establishing and improving nursing policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring quality outcomes, and fostering strong collaboration with Client Services and other departments to support the health, safety, and well\-being of clients. Key Responsibilities ------------------------ Supervision and Management ------------------------------ Lead, supervise, coach, and develop RN Case Managers to ensure consistent, high\-quality nursing oversight, regulatory compliance, and effective support of clients. Establish performance expectations, monitor outcomes, provide regular feedback, and promote professional growth and accountability within the Health Services team. Oversee the delegation and monitoring of Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Medical Assistants, ensuring compliance with the Nursing Practices Act. Ensure specialized nursing tasks are appropriately delegated and documented to unlicensed DSPs. Standardization of Practices ------------------------------------ Develop, implement, and continuously improve the policies, procedures, workflows, standards, and documentation practices that guide RN Case Manager responsibilities. Analyze incident reports, feedback, and quality data to identify trends and lead quality improvement initiatives. Ensure nursing oversight processes are effective, efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including DMH, CARF, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, and other governing agencies. Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update policies, procedures, and practices as needed. Billing, Budget, and Documentation -------------------------------------- Ensure timely and accurate completion of Residential Nursing Oversight documentation, including service logs, monthly nursing reports, and health risk screening assessments. Address compliance issues. Monitor Residential Nursing Oversight documentation to ensure billing accuracy and prevent discrepancies. Collaborate with Finance to monitor client budgets and billing, initiating budget amendments as necessary. Communication and Collaboration --------------------------------------- Establish and maintain collaborative processes between Health Services and Client Services to ensure clear role definition, effective communication, coordinated care planning, and timely resolution of client health and support concerns. Partner closely with Client Services leadership, working together to identify and address significant trends in client health, emerging medical needs, and any gaps in support. Partner with Staff Education to enhance the medication administration curriculum and classes, assist with training as needed, and share field insights from Client Services and Health Services. Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to assess and improve systems, ensuring healthcare tools and vendors effectively support both clients and team members. Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, pharmacies, and professional nursing organizations. Standard \- Demands of the Job -------------------------------------- Able to perform services in multiple work locations and client homes. Able to solve complex problems, prioritize and plan in a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to communicate technical concepts to technical and non\-technical audiences. Able to develop and maintain a method of organization that supports being efficient and effective. Able to manage time independently and meet deadlines. Provide consultation, support and training during evening or weekend hours as needed, due to client health changes. Able to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to a laptop, cell phone, fax machine, printer, scanner, and copier. Appropriately and effectively assist individuals during crisis or emergency situations. Assist clients in accordance with appropriate procedures to stand from the ground, stand from a sitting position or to exit the bathtub, etc. Reposition clients as needed, assist them in utilizing a wheelchair, use adaptive equipment to lift a client safely and comfortably. Stand in a lunge position (bend at the knees), with feet wider than the widest part of body, while maintaining balance and stability during MANDT training or when using MANDT de\-escalation techniques. Transfer a client from a bed, couch, or chair to the floor to perform CPR or client evacuation in an emergency. Kneel on the ground and maintain proper positioning to perform continuous CPR cycles consistent with American Red Cross \& Emmaus standards. For training purposes, this currently requires completion of five (5\) full CPR cycles; in an emergency situation, CPR is performed until relieved by EMS. Lift 50 pounds on a limited basis and frequently assist with lifting, transferring, or moving clients and/or equipment up to the client’s full body weight with the assistance of adaptive equipment depending on home assignment. This includes assisting clients in and out of average vehicles and vans as well as loading and unloading equipment and supplies. Operate client adaptive equipment. Job Requirements/Desired Education and/or Experience ------------------------------------------------------------ High School diploma required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Missouri and in good standing. Minimum of five (5\) years of nursing experience required. Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred. Experience leading, mentoring, coaching, or supervising staff, projects, and quality improvement initiatives preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, problem\-solving, and leadership skills required. Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, workflows, or compliance programs preferred. Knowledge of nursing delegation, documentation standards, and applicable healthcare regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, electronic health records (EHR), electronic medication administration records (eMAR), and other healthcare technology systems. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
